• The satellites are very roughly a foot tall. It looks like you can easily unscrew them off the base; but I'm not sure that's recommended. I've had them connected to both USB and USB 3.0 and they worked fine in both cases.

• Hello Rik, glad you asked, the overall height of the speakers is 9". There is a bass control knob on the Acoustimass Module. The USB recommendation is at least 2.0.
