- Answer The settings go down to 35, but there is a continuous mode. The humidity levels/settings are not always accurate, as I have had humidity in the house below 35 and it will still run.

- Answer I used a garden hose and had no problems. The dehumidifier has a plastic threaded nozzle and it is easy to cross-thread it. You should try it again.

Questioni just purchased this and noticed that the Empty light doesn’t come on when i remove the bucket but rather it turns on when the bucket is removed (and presumably full) and the unit goes to turn on the compressor. is that normal?

The "Empty" indicator will blink when the bucket is ready to be emptied, or when the bucket is removed and/or not replaced in the proper position. NOTE: Fan will continue to run approximately 3 minutes after bucket is removed. QuestionThis unit has a delay button but no up/down arrows to select a time, does it only shut off when desired humidity is reached. Directions show that an independent on/off times can be used by setting delay but with no up/down buttons can't be done

- Answer This unit will shut down either when the reservoir is full or when the set humidity level is reached. If the reservoir is not full when the humidity goes up, it will restart.

QuestionI recently purchased a ge dehumidifier and it will not allow me to set the humidity level. At first I could not get it to pull any moisture. Finally, got it to start working but I still cannot set the humidity level. It stays at 29% and smart dry.

QuestionHow accurate is the humidity reading? Or does it take a while to get an accurate reading? I have the Dyson air cool purifier and the device reads my humidity to be in the 60’s but my dehumidifier is reading about 15-20% less

- Answer It will take a couple weeks to bring it down and maintain it. 60% is pretty high. Just set the setting at 45-50% and turn it on low. It will pretty much run so the tank fills up. Just keep emptying it and it will bring the humidity level down. My Nest reports 38% humidity while the unit reports its as 40-45% range.

QuestionWe just purchased the dehumidifier and after the first time we emptied the bucket the display screen showed the code EO and it is no longer working. What does EO mean and how do we get this to work again. Also, we are not using a hose, just the bucket.

We recommend disconnecting the power for 10 minutes and remove your bucket and reinstall it and make sure it is firmly in place. Restore power and see if that helps. - Answer Hello there, Thanks so much for reaching out. We'll be happy to answer your question! Dehumidifiers do not work well when the air temperature is lower than 40 degrees F. They rely on having a surface that is colder than the air to attract humidity. If the air temperature is below 40F the unit cannot get cold enough to attract moisture at the same rate that it does when the air temperature is warmer. When the ambient temperature is above 95F or below 41F, the unit will shut off. This protects the compressor. to restart the dehumidifier, wait three minutes and turn the unit back on. - Answer The filter is a fine plastic mesh. It's on the outside and is easily accessible. To clean it, simply pop it out of the holders and rinse it. If there are any stubborn particles, you can rub them and they should wash out with a second rinse.

- Answer Hi freedafreeport - Thanks for considering GE! Assuming an eight foot ceiling, ADHB35LZ is best for 600 sq. ft. and ADEW30LY is best for 500 sq. ft. If your ceiling is 10 add 25% to the room square footage. We suggest viewing the following link: DEHUMIDIFIER - SIZING: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=34664 - Also, dehumidifiers have an automatic humidistat that can be adjusted to suit your individual comfort level. Set the control to the desired humidity level (ex. 45%), and the unit will cycle off when the set humidity level is reached.
