“Will this unit turn off when it has reached the desired humidity? I am replacing one where the fan runs 24/7 I understand the concept behind having the unit do this but do not want that feature. thank you.”

Mine never turns off, it reaches the RH of 50 as I set it but it keeps running

Or, it can be set to a particular humidity and the fan can always run. Or, it can be set to a particular humidity and the fan will cycle on and off as needed. Hopefully I answered your question.
