• A:Answer The casters require a lot of pressure to get them to seat fully into their slots. We had the dehumidifier on its side. I found that applying a little lubricant (soap, wax, oil) on the caster "rod" helped a little. It really was quite difficult to get them snapped into place. My son and I struggled with this step for a while. This minor issue aside, the unit works really well!

• A:Answer This dehumidifier was made in CHINA. The information in these Questions and Answers that it was made in the USA is wrong. Like most things made in CHINA it does have a U.S. address on the box but the box also clearly says MADE IN CHINA.

• A:Answer Hi - We can understand how this can be a bit confusing and we do apologize. The ADHB35LZ model is sold exclusively through Best Buy. The other two models are available at other retailers. Q: QuestionI live in South Florida, and I have a Florida Room that gets very hot and humid in the summer, as there is no a/c duct. Some dehumidifiers will remove moisture, but drive up the temp due to the exhaust. Will this increase the room temp for a 9x17 room?

• A:Answer Hey there, we really appreciate you taking a moment to reach out to us. Warm or hot air coming from under or behind the dehumidifier is normal and part of the dehumidification process as long as the unit is drawing moisture from the air. When the unit is dehumidifying, the compressor is generating heat as it operates. In order to avoid having the compressor overheat, air is drawn by the compressor at a rapid rate and exhausted from the unit. Q: QuestionI set this up, installing a garden hose stub through the convenient side-panel door. However, rather than drain through the hose, the unit is simply filling up the receptacle. there a switch or a lever that needs to be moved? Basement location w/a drain.

• A:Answer Hey there, and thanks for contacting us. We hate to hear you’ve had difficulty setting up the unit to drain through a hose; we know that may have caused inconvenience. If it might be helpful, we do have instructions regarding how to collect water, and set it up to drain through a hose, on page 7 of the manual. If you’d like to view that online, you can do so on our GE Appliances website when you look up the model number and go to the product page. If you’ve followed all those instructions, you may want to check the hose to make sure the connection is fitted tightly and there is a rubber washer properly installed in the end of the garden hose. You might also want to check that the hose isn’t pushed too far into the drain; if the hose is touching water, it won’t drain.
