Hey there, and thanks for contacting us. We hate to hear you’ve had difficulty setting up the unit to drain through a hose; we know that may have caused inconvenience. If it might be helpful, we do have instructions regarding how to collect water, and set it up to drain through a hose, on page 7 of the manual. If you’d like to view that online, you can do so on our GE Appliances website when you look up the model number and go to the product page. If you’ve followed all those instructions, you may want to check the hose to make sure the connection is fitted tightly and there is a rubber washer properly installed in the end of the garden hose. You might also want to check that the hose isn’t pushed too far into the drain; if the hose is touching water, it won’t drain. We have additional details on dehumidifier draining in an article on our GE Appliances website, titled ‘Dehumidifier – Drain Hose Issues’; you can get to that article by searching the term and clicking the Support tab. We hope this is helpful, and will be available here or over social media if you have any further concerns. All the best! -Sarah@GEA
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This unit depends on gravity to drain through the hose. When the bucket gets full the unit stops. The user must carry the bucket to a sink or outside to dump the collected water. an auxiliary water pump could be purchased to pump the water up and out.
