A:AnswerYou can set up each of these devices as a primary device in separate houses. You would need 3 separate Gmail accounts to manage each device. They can only be managed from the phone app and need a google account for the app to work.
A:AnswerI was told by the Geek Squad today that I can go directly to my router's IP address and turn off the Altice One Router so that the Google WiFi is the only router/network. However, that did not work as SuddenLink does not allow its customers to turn on/off the router. While it will allow us to make other changes, it doesn't give us the access needed to bypass the router with our own private device (that I've seen). I haven't called SuddenLink yet, but plan to in order to hear what they advise. The reason I bought the Google WiFi today was because I've had two senior technicians with SuddenLink come out two days in a row now because I'm paying for 400mbps and getting under 50mbs. I have a two story home, only 1843 sq ft, and I'm getting 430 mbps downstairs where the router is, and the results above are upstairs where my office and private business are located (single family residential house, no crazy intrusions from building materials or other devices).... their router just doesn't expand very far.
The Google WiFi appears to be working better, but it's hard to tell since I can't turn off the Altice One router to determine. Will likely return the Google products if I can't figure this out. Not as easy as they say.
A:Answerthat was our situation.
If your Spectrum box is one unit, a modem and router combined, you need to have spectrum replace this with 2 units. a modem and a router.
they will do this for free. or you can go there and do this.
You need to keep the Spectrum modem. The Spectrum router will be replaced by one of the Google Mesh units.
Then buy the 3 unit Google mesh router package.
One mesh unit will replace the spectrum router and will be connected with ethernet cable to the spectrum modem.
The other 2 mesh units can be located anywhere in your home. and they need electric power only. They are WIFI, They do not need ethernet connections.
One replaced the Spectrum router
A:AnswerNo, this will not work without broadband internet. You'll need 1. to sign up with an Internet Service Provider (like Comcast Xfinity, AT&T Internet, Verizon FiOS, Charter Spectrum, Hughes.net, CenturyLink, etc. in the US, or Bell Aliant, Rogers, Shaw, Eastlink, etc. in Canada), and 2. a modem (which the Internet Service Provider will provide). You'll also need an Android or iOS device, the Google WiFi app, and a Google Account.
A:AnswerThe units themselves require 5VDC at 3Amps using a standard USB-C Connector. Mine came with a power supply that accepts 100VAC-240VAC at 50Hz-60Hz. While the power supply will work with 220Volts, you will more than likely need an adapter for the power supply to convert to the North American Plug.
I would imagine that if you are outside of North America, you can find these with the correct plug for your region.
