A:AnswerCannot answer toy question without knowing your current thermostat model. If it is Honeywell wall mounted with C wire, then it should work. I had a Honeywell (basic model) with C wire and all I had to do was to remove the old one and fit the new one with all wires reconnected a per the instruction.

The Honeywell - Smart Color Thermostat with Wi-Fi Connectivity - Silver is compatible for a heat pump application, however it does not have backup heat differential, therefor the thermostat will engage you backup heat only when the heat pump is locked out and not based off of temperature set point. A:AnswerI can only say that the one the professional installed for my sister with her new furnace was the Honeywell Lyric T5 at $150 or so. This one is $200. Both are hooked up exactly the same way. Both have WiFi. I think the $200 looks sharper, felt sturdier and has some more advanced features but either one can program AC/Heat. Both are sold by Best Buy. Your professional will install this one if you buy it and tell him to use this nicer one.
