- Answer No it won't work like that. Some smart TVs I think they can connect to bluetooth devices, but I'm not too sure if it would work to take the audio out from the TV and connect it to a bluetooth speaker, or like to connect a cellphone and listen to whatever you have on your phone on he tv

- Answer No, this device only converts a digital audio signal from a device such a TV with optical audio out or digital coax audio out, to the conventional rca connector, so i.e. you can take the audio out form a TV and take it into an stereo amplifier with rca audio in

- Answer This is not 5.1 compatible, must use PCM for this device. The Gefen GTV-DD-2-AA does Dolby Digital conversion to 2 channel stereo. You will need to direct connect to the 6 channel inputs to get 5.1 sound. Some computers have the 6 channel outputs for Dolby Digital. Search 5.1 Rush Digital Sound Decoder for a solution.

QuestionI purchased this converter yday. I'm connecting my TV to surround sound via a stereo/amplifier. The amp only has RCA audio output. Hence y I require this device. But when I connect everything, there's too much distortion in speakers. Any suggestions?

- Answer Check audio settings on the TV, it must be taking the audio signal out on a Dolby digital or DTS format, look for a PCM option and select that one. I think that should solve your issue

- Answer This device only converts audio FROM digital format (optical or coax) TO rca, I think whet you're trying to do is connect the Nintendo 64 to your TV and it doesn't have rca input, in that case you need an RCA to HDMI converter.

- Answer yes, that will work. it is doing a great job right now. you do need a coaxial cable to go into your tv.

- Answer No. this only convers digital audio from a device to and analog audio output. fiber optical wire or coaxial audio outs to left and right analod audio. Comcast may offer an app that you can use to replace the dta box, time warner/spectrum has an app. therefore no box or monthly fee for dta rental

- Answer Hello Bob, I am not sure about your question but I am pretty sure that this converter is not what you need. This converter takes a digital signal, like from a modern DVD player and converts it to analog so you can listen to your dvd's though powered speakers or an older sound system that has analog inputs. - Answer Return it as mine works great but if you don’t use it regularly, you have to unplug it and then plug it again for it to work.

- Answer While I do not have Spectrum digital, I understand that they have encrypted their signal and require renting their decoder for each TV. The product I bought is to convert digital AUDIO only, as I had 2 devices with optical audio outputs, but my soundbar only had one optical input. I convert one source to analog and plug into the 3.5 mm jack on the soundbar.

QuestionWhen I connect Panasonic Blu ray to analog receiver, the CD plays but sound is not in stereo. When I play cassette or turn table, sound is coming out of both speakers. Question: does the DVD (cd) to receiver via optical cable only play in one speaker?

- Answer Should play on both. Mine plays throughout my surround sound. All speakers work and subwoofer too. Note: if I don’t use my surround regularly, I have to cycle power each time. Unplugging.

- Answer I believe if you went optical out from the PS4 to analog into the computer speakers, it should work just fine. That's basically what I'm doing from my television to my Fluance bookshelves now. Good luck!
