A:AnswerHi luislast.
Thank you for taking the time to ask this question. The Ring Quick Release Battery Packs are designed specifically to work with Ring video doorbells and security cameras. They have been designed, tested and manufactured adhering to the highest industry standards. We recommend using only genuine Ring batteries. Non-Ring brand battery packs used in video doorbells or cameras may:
Not fit properly.
Have the incorrect battery specifications for your Ring device(s) and cause inaccurate battery reporting.
Cause unexpected behavior from the Ring device after installation and during software updates.
Drain too rapidly or not stay charged.
If any additional information is needed regarding your Ring Rechargeable Quick Release Battery Pack, please reach out to our community. Ring Community is our first peer-to-peer community forum, giving our customers the ability to help one another and share their feedback and experiences directly with Ring.
Thank you,
Amilia from Ring.
A:AnswerI would use the original orange USB that Ring provides with each doorbell. It’s a flat android looking charger. For me, it works best and charges really fast. Not sure about voltage levels.
A:AnswerHad my spare charged for 2 weeks and it had 100% when I changed it out. That, by the way, is how long it took the original one to get down to 13%
A:AnswerJust an update, I did buy this and the battery DOES charge within the device. When power is cut to the ring cam, the battery kicks in. When hard wired power is then supplied back to the camera, the battery DOES actually charge within the camera and is back to 100% once the power is cut to the ring cam again
A:AnswerHello La,
During charging both the red and green lights will light up. Your battery is fully charged when the light on the battery shines a solid green.
