A:AnswerYes. you will need two U clip tools to release the radio then all the plug in ports will be on the back of the radio Make sure you use the outside antenna, it works much better than the interior one. You can get the clips at any auto parts store.
A:AnswerFor the xm tuner port, it's going to need to be found in a dealer manual, or Mitchell on demand or Alldata (most municipal libraries have subscriptions) you can get a factory tuner or buyou an aftermarket interface for this particular tuner. Some of the aftermarket interfaces will let you add an HD Radio or ipod/iPhone controls via a cable.
A:AnswerI purchased this for my satellite ready radio in my RV. It is not "plug and play". Since the antenna line needs to run from the unit to the top of the vehicle, I used Best Buy's installation team to take care of that. They did a fabulous job. It works great with a Sirius subscription. Nothing better for road trips!
A:AnswerIf you receive audio on channel 1 (preview channel) then you just need to activate the built-in SiriusXM Tuner. Please visit www.siriusxm.com/activate to begin. You will need the Radio ID or your car's VIN number to start the process. The Radio ID can be found on SiriusXM's channel 0.
A:AnswerIt will work if your car radio is SiriusXM ready. And, you should have it installed instead of doing it yourself to make sure the antenna is installed correctly.
A:AnswerAs long as it is not integrated with the AM/FM antenna (very rare) it will work. I used my 10 year old XM antenna that was already in place. Very good reception.
A:AnswerI replaced my original radio with an XM ready radio and had to install the Sirius XM SXV300 Connect Vehicle Tuner for my vehicle, a 95 Ram Van, in order to receive the XM signal. So I would say the same applies to your vehicle.
A:AnswerI'm sorry, but I don't know. We installed ours in a 2006 Expedition, which is, basically, a 2006 F-150. My best guess is that it will work unless Ford made major changes to the 150 between 06 & 10.
A:AnswerIf your new stereo is an aftermarket stereo and it says XM ready...you will still need the XM tuner to hook up to your current stereo. XM tuner has to be wired with your current stereo. XM tuner will have the antenna to receive the XM satellite reception. Once you have installed the XM tuner, you will need to call XM and have them activate your XM tuner ID. I hope this helps.
A:AnswerIf your radio is one that is originally factory installed you don't need the tuner. It is built in already. You just buy what ever plan you need and you are good to go. If the radio is after market siriusxm ready then the tuner is all you need to buy along with the subscription. The tuner only lets you receive sirius, nothing to do with the subscription.
A:AnswerHi juliemmh,
I called the Geek Squad audio installation crew and they set me up with a XM unit to plug into my stereo (which had a XM port) on my 2012 Forester. I let them at Best Buy do the installation and the small 50 cent size antenna will have to be stuck in the corner of the dash ( which I prefer ) instead of on top of the roof. I upgraded to the Kenwood DDX374BT and Alpine speakers which Best Buy installed it all and great upgrade with the XM. I hope this helped. As long as you have the XM port, you can install a XM antenna module upgrade kit. ☺ Bobby
