QuestionI am looking to purchase this item and would like to use it to store pictures for my company. My hope is to put all the pictures in one place so all employees can access them from home and work using there computers and phones will this product work?

- Answer It certainly has the space. But it's a drive, not a server. You'll need a way for them all to access the drive, obviously.

QuestionI am looking to Rip all my DVDs to a hard drive in order to get rid of my DVD collection, just tired of trying to physically store them, will this work for that? IF so, will 8 terabytes be enough for like 500 movies?

- Answer I currently have 700 movies on a 4 TB drive. You should have no problem with an 8TB drive.

QuestionI'm looking for a hard drive that doesn't encrypt the files. Is there a way around this? I use it for pictures only. I had a My book Essentials 2t hd and the case broke and I can't get any thing out.

QuestionCan I connect it to the ps4 if I already downloaded games from my xbox in it? Will it delete my xbox games?

- Answer I think you have to format it to your PS4 the same way you did your Xbox. Unless it gives you the option to partition on PS4 (doubtful) then yes, it would delete all your Xbox games on that drive. Maybe get a cheap drive to move your backup/lesser-played Xbox games to while you reformat this drive for your PS4. I would recommend using this drive for whichever system you need the most extra space on and don't take the risk of using it on both. I can't say for certain this is what will happen but it's an educated guess.

QuestionSony will soon release the PS4 System Update 4.50 which will allow for external hard drives to be compatible with the PS4. Will this hard drive work for that purpose? Also, I didn't see this anywhere, but does this hard drive require a power source?

- Answer It will work. Be aware that if you just hook it up to your PS4 and format it, you will not be able to copy videos or music to the device, you can only put PS4 applications on it. I would describe this hard drive as loud. Not outrageously loud, but I was surprised. I have a WD elite 2TB external HDD hooked up to my PS3 - and this HDD hooked up to my PS4, and the elite is practically silent. (The elite is USB 2.0). Hope that helps.

- Answer This WILL work for your PS4 as long as it is/has: USB 3.0 or better, a minimum of 250 GB or a max of 8 TB, and it can be directly connected to the PS4. :)
