The Samsung Smart Instant Heat Slide-in Induction Range is powered by induction, making it hyperfast, which means less waiting and more cooking. The induction cooktop responds immediately to heat adjustments and cools quickly, making it easy to clean.
Q: The description indicates it is an induction range. The key specs say it is not. Which is correct?
A: Just wanted to let you know that I ordered this stove and it was in fact induction.
A: Yes, it only heats where the pan is. You can touch it outside of that and it will be cool.
A: You can turn on the oven and set its temperature and mode remotely (bake, broil, bread proof, keep warm), and set a timer. You can also turn on its light and check if the cooktop is on.
Q: Is the temperature control for the cook top at fixed increments or on a continuum?
A: It’s incremental using the dial from 1 to 9 named (boost).
A: It’s almost undetected.
A: Hi Packard, We appreciate your question about the element diameter of the cooktop. The biggest element has a diameter of 11 inches. When using a 12-inch pan, the pan's 11 inches will be heated properly if centered accordingly on the element. Please refer to page 27 of the user manual for using the correct size cookware. https://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/202112/20211214154921478/NE63B8211-00_EN-MES-CFR_211208.pdf Should you need more assistance, please feel free to get back to us via the following options: 1. A: You probably should stick to your local building code which probably says 50 amps. But, you are right. The stove is designed for 40 amp service and a 40 amp circuit is more than adequate to fully operate everything on this stove. Ours is installed as 40 amp and it works fine.
Q: Is the oven also induction?
A: HI. No the oven is not induction.

I must say i was nervous making the switch to induction cooktop. I got this model afer having coil electric elements. Which i hated. These are smooth top, simple to clean. Touch cotrols arent thr best. Yoy can stand close to it and itll set of with a slight lean(not skin touch just any touch force) oven works great. Heats up wuick. I wish it has fit more flush in my home. Otherwise its a great upgrade for induction alone.

Sale price on this is a great deal. I bought one open box with service contract and good idea because the cooking elements float under the glass and had shifted causing the numerals to misalign. The got it fixed after a month waiting for parts which turned out to be unnecessary - taking a star off for bad design that allows that to misalign. I also got a free Samsung range hood which unfortunately took many months to come into stock (deal expired) What I love is fast boiling, stovetop is cool except the burner that's on, fewer worries about leaving a burner on. What I don't love is that grease & dirt show more so I have to clean more often and the SmartThings app won't do anything without being there to push the Smart button on the range so I can't preheat the oven from the store. Even if a pan is magnetic it may not work efficiently unless it's highly ferrous - aka heavy. Huge difference in boil times. There's a secret menu to test pans. Press & hold Timer and lightbulb together for 3 seconds. Bottom of digits will light up. Put on pan and turn on burner. 00 means not compatible, 01 is inefficient, 02 is most efficient. Credit to Samsung for offering a free 10 piece circulon induction set which works great. There are more buzzing sounds but they're very quiet and not a big deal compared to the exhaust hood. I was really excited about fast water boiling. It is fast, but honestly I don't notice much of a difference in real cooking because that's only a small part of the process. Temp control is better and I prefer to deep fry on it because of that control. The top looks great but shows dirt much worse than my white porcelain gas stove so I have to clean it more frequently. The cool top effectively adds counter space because it's cool all around the burner. Don't actually touch the surface after cooking because you're still going to burn yourself despite those videos showing people placing their hand down for a fraction of a second. Oven works great and after adjusting the temp it's spot on. There's another secret menu to adjust temp - hold settings for 3 seconds, press up/down to select 1, press start/set, press up/down to select temp adjustment, start/set to save. I miss convection on my high end range. The high tech SmartThings and Bluetooth are a disappointment. I thought it would talk to the BT exhaust hood but only the higher end ranges do that. SmartThings remote control is a great idea but you can only see what burners are on or if the door was opened. You need to be there in person to turn on the Smart Control before you can remotely turn on the oven.

Love this range. The induction cooktop brings water to a boil in 2 minutes or less! Better than gas in every way.
