Customers enjoy the SmartThings Hub for its ease of use, compatibility with other products, and simple setup. Some customers have experienced connectivity issues and suggest improvements to the app. The hub is praised for its home automation capabilities and reasonable price, with many appreciating its Z-Wave functionality. However, a few users have noted limitations in its range and clarity of instructions.
Excellent entry level hub handling multiple wireless options. Easy cell phone setup. Bought a second one for a family member.

I purchased the SmartThings hub to work with my zigbee-controlled light bulbs (from Sengled) and Amazon Echo. The hub is fairly easy to setup, but after that the hub drops connection with the bulbs frequently (showing "device unavailable"). After calling both Sengled and Samsung, I learned from Samsung representative that thee hub's zigbee signal has interference with Wi-Fi signal and therefore the hub must be placed far away from your Wi-Fi router (my router only broadcasts at 2.4G, not 5G). After relocating the hub, the drop connection problem never appeared again. But if you don't like a long Ethernet cable between your router and the hub, think before you buy.

Purchased awhile back, was waiting to move to a new place. We have it up and running. So far no real hiccups, just our local internet provider causing problems twice so far. When that happened I got a notification right away, so that part works. I connected kitchen, dining room, bedroom, loft and office lights. All work flawlessly. I even bought a switch to plug in my dollar store mr. Coffee. It's set up to start at 6 am with kitchen and living room lights turned low. Love it. Next I want to setup my front door lock. SmartThings setup was real easy, and adding bulbs and zwave stuff is fool proof. Love it. I even hooked it up with Alexa, real seamless.
