Dream Sound at a Great Price!

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5Pros mentioned:Channels, Design, Sound qualityWas replacing an older Denon unit of 10 years which I had loved, and learned that Marantz was the sibling brand with some premium components. Though the 8015 was tempting, the 7015 really fits all my needs with many of the same quality improvements over the lower models (SHARC DSP, Copper Screws, Larger Frame). Airplay 2 works very well for my music needs, until I can pick up a record player for the dedicated analog input. If you aren't aware of Bi-Amping, it's a great feature that'll produce phenomenal sounding 7 channel experience on this receiver, with option for 2 additional channels if you utilize as a pre-amp. This is my first Atmos experience at home, and after mounting ceiling speakers, I must say it was well worth the hassle (though there are options which bounce off the ceiling too). My first attempting setting up eARC was a breeze using an LG CX, and when enabling airplay for music, it doesn't turn on the TV thankfully. Unless you have a massive room needing more power/speakers for, the 8015 really isn't necessary. I would highly recommend picking up the AC Infinity T9 cooling unit for this, as it matches the style and will prolong the life of this amazing receiver (see attached photos). Banana plug friendly but know that you'll need a few inches behind the unit, especially if choosing 12 gauge cables (you totally should).

Marantz best music/movie receiver
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Channels, Sound qualityI like the warmth of this receiver when listening to music. Sounded great with movies too. It’s my first Marantz ever and all I can say is it does a lot. At 100 watts per channel it’s pretty powerful as an all purpose receiver rather than separates. Kudos to Best Buy as I started buying more and larger speakers (SVS) I decided to trade up to the SR 8015 at 140 watts per channel I felt it would suit the addition of bigger speakers. But the SR 8015 is 900$ more and unless you have the cash and the need it’s virtually the same receiver so stick with the SR 7015 It’s extremely well built and easy to set up and sounds great you can’t go wrong!

Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Did a LOT of research and I am very happy with this receiver as my hub for my home theater. Had a 17 year old THX certified Integra receiver that served me well, but did not have any HDMI inputs for switching and did not have the latest surround sound formats. ATMOS was a serious upgrade and I was able to install 4 ceiling speakers to complete my 5.1.4 system. The sound is truly amazing and creates an enveloping experience. Included room calibration took some time, but rewards with a well balanced result. Marantz receivers produce a warm and “musical” sound that makes me very happy with this purchase. Price was a concern, but I wanted the extra power to drive all 9 channels effortlessly with room to spare. After many movies I can say that -10 dB to reference is a very engaging level and action scenes and explosions are very realistic. The video upscaling to 4K for all input sources is very well done and Dolby Vision and HDR10+ are fully supported and looks fantastic. It is also “future proof” as it will upscale to 8K when the market moves that way. This receiver should definitely be on a short list for doing everything very well to excellent.

Quality1 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5STILL BROKE! I’m on my 5th receiver. Just gave up on Denon AVR4700 after 4 units. Now trying Marantz SR7015 and having same problem. I am randomly dropping HDMI signal on ALL these units. Sometimes I can go hours. Sometimes minutes. 7015 dropped signal 25mins after unboxing and setup. Screen goes dark and audio stops. Speaker icons vanish on front display and “no signal” alert pops up on Sony 950h. 2-3 seconds later it all comes back. Source material is still playing during blackout. This happens on ALL inputs. PS5. Xbox X. Sony x800 4k player. DTV Genie box. PC running Rtx3080. I’ve re-cabled all connections three times with AudioQuest and Rocketfish 48gbs 8k cables. Problem persists after 5 receiver exchanges. The only way to eliminate this signal drop Is to run everything to TV and only use eArc for audio only. Only problem is TV doesn’t have enough inputs. I’m ready to give up and get a nice Atmos soundbar. This has been going on since August. Pretty fed up with Denon/Marantz 2020 models at this point.

Posted .Your issue has nothing to do with the AVRs or cabling. Your issue is caused by poor EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) negotiation between the TV, AVR, and source(s). This has been an industry problem for at least 12 years and the most common form of HDMI based communication issue. The test for an EDID based negotiation issue is to use a different make/model TV and see if you get the same result. A different TV will generate different EDID (data) back to the other devices so the result should be different as well. To correct an EDID based issue, the TV manufacturer will need to alter the TV's EDID via firmware so it can negotiate properly with an HDMI repeating device like an AVR. An HDMI repeating device is any device that processes HDMI audio and video. It accepts the input signal from the source, strips the audio for processing and out to the amp section (theater speakers) and then repeats the video out to the display. The negotiation problem occurs when the TV's EDID (data) doesn't authenticate with the source when going through the repeater. Basically, the source doesn't know what to do because of bad or incomplete data. The TV's EDID is generated by the TV every 3 seconds, so it's common to experience this issue intermittently. Sometimes the data negotiates well, sometimes it doesn't. You can also try installing an EDID management device in between the AVR and TV, (Key Digital HDFIX22, Atlona UHD Sync) but that's not a guaranteed fix.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5This receiver is Amazing!!! Sound/ functionality/ Power / Specs/ Aesthetics. Did I say What a sound? video capabilities amazing . eARC works amazing as long as you have the right 8K 48gb cable. Worth every penny I spent. I got the SR6015 and it was so good I had to upgrade to get the full display and the additional Watts. Recommended with My Eyes Closed!!!

Too expensive for the specs

Quality5 out of 5Value2 out of 5Ease of Use3 out of 5I purchased this and the equivalent spec denon. The Marantz is many hundreds of dollars more and had equal or worse sound in my opinion. Again it's a great reveiver, but my opinion is that you are not gaining anything jumping to this model.

Q: Questionif you're out of stock on this and Marantz is out of stock, how can your website show it will be delivered in 3 days?
Asked by Usernametaken.
- A:Answer That sounds like a glitch on the site.
Answered by Marantz Team
Q: QuestionCan you briefly explain how this , an audio receiver can upscale 4k and 8k video signals? Thanks!
Asked by Mike.
- A:Answer Well it's not just an audio receiver, but an audio AND video receiver. You can and should route all video inputs through this. I don't have an 8k TV so can't tell you about the end result, but I imagine it works as the initial 4K upscaling did before becoming the standard
