With more than 2 channels driven, you will get 85-90 w/channel so when using 5.1 or 7.1 or any atmos configuration for that matter. Marantz has a 70% rule they apply to all their amps. So take the advertised power ranking 125 watts and multiply that by 70% you get 87.6 root mean square

Movie soundtracks will often not ask all channels to output the same signal simultaneously. Built-in Audyssey sound calibration software is provided to balance out the system, and the Receiver will provide the proper amount of power to each channel as needed. All channel-driven specifications are not provided.
