Best WiFi Router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am by no means a computer techie, but I do know my way around alittle. Let me start that installation was about as simple as setting up your iPad or laptop up to the Internet. Once this was all installed I increased my overall speed by about 25mbs, and the extender or dead spot receiver was easy set up also, mine was a Best Buy exclusive which has a built in geek squad button. This is a bit pricey but like momma always told me you get what you pay for.

So far, so good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this router because my old one kept dying out on me. It was 6 years old anyway. This new one seems to be doing the trick and all is well. The setup was pretty simple. The extender option seems to be working just fine. We have one particular room were the wifi is weak, but the booster seems to increase the signal. My only beef is that the booster signal shows as "weak" (red light), however, my devices (including XBOX ONE) seems to run smoothly (no glitching) during the day and at night. I'm happy with the product.

How to get Geek Squad via button?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read that you have to set up an account online first before being able to connect to Geek Squad via the far right button on the router. Did I do that when i registered my new Netgear? Do I already have an account? I have so many online accts. that I forget even if I write them all down. How to organize? Anyway, so far, ALL OF MY 8 NETWORK DEVICES ARE SHOWING UP IN THE NETGEAR GENIE APP., INCLUDING THE DST ADAPTER THAT CAME WITH THE R7300 MODEL.

Great signal reach
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I live in a large wide ranch home that has had dead zones with other routers. The NETGEAR - Nighthawk DST AC1900 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router with DST Adapter came with a additional signal booster. Together they have eliminated all dead zones and improved the quality and reliability of my wifi throughout my home..

Q: QuestionCan this be used with DSL?
Asked by Donna D.
- A:Answer Yes, because this router doesn't care how you get your internet. DSL comes into your home and then goes through a DSL modem, which either your DSL company provides or you buy yourself. This router comes into the chain AFTER that modem, and converts the Internet in your house to Wi-Fi signals (and also allows you to plug in four devices at a time via Ethernet, instead of just one). You could have cable, Fiber, DSL, whatever; a router doesn't care.

Q: QuestionCan I eliminate my TWC Router? If I get this can I eliminate the router from the cable company (Time Warner)?
Asked by Pete.
- A:Answer The modem from the cable company is what brings the service to your home, then you have the wireless router attached to the modem, This replaced the wireless router from your cable company. NOT the modem.

Q: QuestionDo you already have to have wifi/internet service?? Or does this replace that??? Thank you
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Must have internet connection, this will be wifi connection. Works great for me even with multiple devices running at same time.

Q: Questionwhat is the optimum up load and down load speed for a wireless router?
Asked by leelou.
- A:Answer From the research I've done, upload speeds are generally considerably lower than your download speeds. I can give you real world numbers from my own experience with the AC1900. I maintain steady 50+ Mbps download and between 12 and 18 Mbps upload anywhere in my 2400 square foot multi floor home along with the Dead Spot Terminator plugged in on the upper floor. I have found these speeds unmatched by any previous product I've personally used. I hope this helps.

Q: QuestionWill this work with an AT&T wireless router/modem combination DSL line?
Asked by penny.
- A:Answer Yes, this will work with an AT&T wireless router/modem.
Answered by CommunityAnswer
Q: QuestionIs this also a modem?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer No - this is NOT a modem. You need to use a modem to modulate the signal from your Internet provider - after which you can use this router to deliver WiFi or wired Internet through your location.

Q: QuestionWill this allow someone 500 ft away to pick up internet or does anyone know how far of a reach internet can be recieved outside the home is?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It depends upon the router. Some have very powerful antennas that can push the signal further than other makes and models of routers. Also, the other thing to consider is this, the 2.4Mhz band will travel further than the 5.0Ghz band because it is a lower frequency. So, yeah, the 2.4Mhz band of this router will travel further outside of your home(500ft maybe). The 5Ghz band won't travel as far.

Q: QuestionHow many devices can I have on this router at one time?
Asked by Jeff.
- A:Answer I don't know the maximum number of connections, but I have had up to 16 devices connected at one time, ranging from iphones to laptops to smart TVs to printers and never had any problem with the connection on any of them. I generally have 10-12 connected devices regularly and again, have never had an issue with bandwidth to any of the devices.
