• The modem from the cable company is what brings the service to your home, then you have the wireless router attached to the modem, This replaced the wireless router from your cable company. NOT the modem.

• Hey Pete I also am with Time Warner. I have replaced both my Router and Modem so as not to be paying a monthly fee. I have the Nighthawk Router with the Extender and the ARRIS SURFboard SB6183 modem all purchased from Best Buy. Both work great.

• Most likely the Comcast device is a combination modem and router. This device is a router only. You would retain the use of the modem portion of your Comcast device and connect this router to the modem to acquire your internet signal.

• Yes. If you purchase this router, call Time Warner and tell them you want to turn in their wireless router.
