- Answer Hi Penny, A smart TV is not required for the Fire Stick. I use one with a basic computer monitor with an HDMI input. In fact, I think it's better to not have a smart TV over time, as I suspect that upgrading a USB stick will be easier and cheaper.

- Answer The apps nbc sports for fire appears in the apps on the fire stick, I have not used it though. Googling it shows some like it and others have had trouble with it.

- Answer I honestly don't see how that could happen. However, I guess most anything is possible...one thing I do know is that with all the storms and don't know where you live but the lightening can sure play havoc with a lot of household appliances as we have been through that ourselves. Beyond that I really don't know.

- Answer Stick is strictly wireless and Fire Box allows you to plug directly into router for faster streaming. Little to no buffering with the box, just make sure the router is positioned near your tv so you can run an ethernet cable to the box and HDMI to the TV.

- Answer You can definitely download the KODI app to the fire stick for sure. As long as you are comfortable adding a build or doing add one one by one then you are ok. If not it's easy to look up how to add builds which is the way to go. Even if you know someone who has some computer knowledge they should be able to do it as well
