No you don’t need to hold the power button that was the big difference with the V-12. The only thing that’s disappointing about the V-12 is the trash canister. Dyson should have made it bigger,so you will have to empty constantly while cleaning. I chose th V-12 over the V-15 due to the lightness. V-12 is lighter than the V-15.
A:AnswerIn my opinion, no. Here’s why.
I had this vacuum for a few hours before returning it. I have dogs, a Boston terrier and pit I’ll mix. Occasionally we babysit friends animals. There can be a lot of dog hair on our floors.
I’ll say this, I’ve own the original Dyson ball, v12, v15, and animal 3. The animal 3 performs the best out of the bunch. The stick vacuums didn’t pick up nearly the amount of hair/dirt/etc as the animal 3.

When using on carpeting with the Motorhead, you should get 5 minutes in high, 20 in medium and 30 minutes in low. When using on hard flooring with the Motorhead, run time is the same, except in low mode, you should get closer to 40 minutes.
If you're using the Fluffy floor head, you'll get 5 minutes in high, 30 in medium and 50 minutes in low mode. When you're using any non-motorized attachment, you'll get about 5 minutes in high, 30 in medium and 60 in low mode.

The V12 Detect Slim is a more compact machine, and therefore the clear dust bin is a smaller size as well - if you find that you are picking up a lot of debris or pet hair on a regular basis, you may find this unit too small. One thing you may appreciate about this model, however is the de-tangling vanes built in to the cleaner head which automatically clean wrapped hair from the brush bar while you vacuum.

A:Answeri have looked for one myself but unfortantly not and honestly unless ur sucking up alot of dust or dirt you really dont need it and its the easiest bin ever to dump.
