Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The V12 Detect Slim is a more compact machine, and therefore the clear dust bin is a smaller size as well - if you find that you are picking up a lot of debris or pet hair on a regular basis, you may find this unit too small. One thing you may appreciate about this model, however is the de-tangling vanes built in to the cleaner head which automatically clean wrapped hair from the brush bar while you vacuum. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.With the laser you see a lot and it picks up a lot of it, not 100% but close in my house. Just make sure you use the right attachments. I have 5 dogs and hard surface on 1 level, I was mortified to see the hair with the laser the first few times. I would recommend sweeping still first for a deep clean.
