- Answer I ordered extra mounts from Garmin. But l haven’t found any disk separate for the mounts. Its about $9.00.

QuestionWhy is it that the extra magnetic mount included in the packaging of garmin dash cam 45 has double adhesive? Isn’t it that only one side should be with adhesive and the opposite side should only be magnetic?

- Answer Some people prefer to make it so that it’s not removable. Hence the double sided. I wondered the same thing. I like to take it out of sight.depending in where I am Parking garages etc.

- Answer You would not be able to slow down the video during playback on the Dash Cam. You could slow down the video using most video editing programs.

- Answer Yes, the Garmin Dash Cam is designed to immediately begin recording video when it is turned on. It will continue to record, overwriting the oldest non-protected videos, until the device is turned off.

- Answer It shouldn't be hard to remove. The metal disk the dash cam's magnet uses to attach to the windshield is held on by double stick tape . You should just have to use a razor blade to remove the metal disk and use some Goo Gone to remove any residue

QuestionI have this camera for about 3 or 4 weeks. Is there any way to have the camera record continuously for the whole time I am driving? I have noticed video from earlier in the day is not on the memory card. I don't see any place in the settings to change it.

- Answer The camera IS recording continuously (assuming it's working properly). It stores the recording on the microSD card. When the card becomes full, it goes back to the beginning and starts recording again, effectively erasing what was previously recorded. The easiest way to get more recording time is to replace the factory installed 4 GB mciroSD card with a 64 GB one.

QuestionHow large a memory chip can this support? (after adding new one) How long will it record if there are no problems? How long will it record both back and forward after an impact?

- Answer According to the manual, the maximum is 64 GB. I don't know what the times would be, but note that during an impact, only the previous clip, current clip, and 1 following clip is saved as part of the event, so that in itself is not going to significantly reduce its overall recording ability.

- Answer The total video capacity of the memory card depends on the size of card being used and the quality of video recording. See the following Support Center article for helpful information: https://support.garmin.com/faqSearch/en-US/faq/content/85FGsedVux25MrQ3gteSL6 The Dash Cam series of devices is meant to be used to capture footage of specific incidents while driving. Because of this, the device will save a clip of a few minutes in duration before, during, and after any saved or detected incident. Any non-saved video clips will be deleted automatically. The device is not meant to record continuously. I recommend looking into Garmin's VIRB action camera products, which are made with continuous recording in mind. -MH
