- Answer The only pre-filer you need to replace, is the odor reducing one ( one that came wrapped). If you use the other one, all you need to do is wash it. I used a small amount of shampoo and it did the trick.

- Answer The pre-filter is an activated carbon impregnated foam filter. It's primary purpose is to assist in filtering odors, but it also catches pet hair, lint, and bigger particulates. This filter will fall apart if you attempt to wash it. The washable internal filter (they are both accessed via the removable back panel) is an electrostatic filter designed to capture smaller particles of things like dander and pollen. Just a tip: if you replace the pre-filter, make certain that it is pressed back under the retaining tabs on the rear grille. If you don't, it will make replacing the cover impossible as there is no excess room.

Questionfilter light not coming on yet after 3 weeks of useI have 2 Honeywell genius 5 air purifiers and they been running straight for 3 weeks now but the filter light does not show the filter getting dirty. is there a time limit for this. thank you .

- Answer I think the filter meter goes based on hours used and at what level the purification is set to to determine how fast the meter fills, for example I have mine set to level 3 purification and it took at least a month and a half of constantly running before the meter started to fill up so yours should eventually start to fill the gage with time, another tip the instruction manual doesn't tell you is you have to wait for the filter meter to completely fill before it lets you reset it.

- Answer I purchased this product for the same reason. Am not sure it really removes mold well enough. Ended up purchasing an Air Scrubber ( which cost a lot more) and hiring a mold remediation company to rip out drywall and wet insulation. If you can still smell an odor, chances are that you still have mold present. Also, hired a company to take air samples before and after remediation. Don't wait if you are sensitive to mold, it can ruin your health. Hope this helps!

- Answer Thank you for your question. The ifD® filters should be cleaned approximately once every 3 months by removing it from the unit. Fill a sink with lukewarm water and add a few drops of mild dish soap. Gently swish the filter in the soap solution to clean. Soak the filter for 2-3 minutes. Rinse the filter with clean tap water. Dry thoroughly before reinstalling in the unit.

- Answer I don't think so. The effect may degrade a lot after some time for this product. It's better to have HEPA filter and change it regularly.
