A:AnswerIt is immediate. Also, the camera is very sensitive and even alerts me as "movement in the living room" when the room gets brighter from sunlight.
A:AnswerThe backlight comes on after you press a button.
There is a faint light from the status symbols that bleed into the keypad. It helps me at night to see my first button press. They everything lights up.
A:AnswerI've had ADT systems in the past also. It does the same exact thing. With Ring, you can turn the option on or off, and can set it to send the alert to your phone also if you want.
A:AnswerHi norgster,
For many people with the Ring Alarm system installed, adding another keypad in a different location allows them to have an additional access point to be able to arm the system, disarm, and manage the settings without having to run downstairs or upstairs to the single keypad.

A:AnswerHi Sherri,
Ring Alarm gives you the option to enable 24/7 Ring Alarm Professional Monitoring. As a part of Ring Alarm Professional Monitoring, if your alarm is triggered you will receive alerts that your system alarm has gone off. You can learn more about Professional Monitoring here: https://bit.ly/2lNyY2T

A:AnswerHi User1,
The Ring Alarm Contact Sensors and Motion Detector require a 3V Lithium CR123A battery.

A:AnswerHi Bob,
You would need to purchase Ring Alarm Flood and Freeze Sensors in order to detect water as soon as possible, limiting the damage that can occur. You'd need to place the Alarm Flood and Freeze Sensor on the floor or any flat surface under a sink, refrigerator or any other water source, and you'll get alerts when water or low temperatures are detected.

A:AnswerYou do add them on the app, you can add so the only have access to the alarm, or have access, like you do, to the system itself, settings, etc. not sure the limit, but I have 15 guest users so far, 5 more shared Users (they have access to the cameras as well) not sure if there is a limit. This is used at our office. I don't see a way to give then access during specific times, but it does log on the app who used it when, so if they used it at the wrong time, you can give them a nastygram. You can also remove them from the app.
A:AnswerNo it doesn't notify you when a door or window is left open, but you can set it so it notify you when they are opened and closed if you would like.
A:AnswerYour phone doesn’t have to be on WiFi to get notifications. You can use your phone however you normally use it and you will get all of your notifications. It’s a great system. Installed mine a month ago along with the ring pro doorbell.
A:AnswerThey set up the accounts by location, basically per Base unit. If you want professional monitoring, it will cost two subscriptions, but you can self monitor through the app for free. And even the free version gives you cellular backup, so if you lose internet, it still reports to you. I run the Office one, we have the subscription there, and I self monitor at home. We only have the subscription at work for the camera recording, we find it easier to self monitor there too.
A:AnswerYES, cell phone backup is available BUT ONLY IF YOU BUY MONITORING SERVICE.
If you already have Ring doorbell and subscribe to plan (about $100 a year if you pay upfront) then all your Ring Devices are covered.
so the Ring alarm monitoring will be included.
for example I have ring doorbell and security lights and paid $100 to have videos storage for a year. When I purchased the Ring alarm I did not have to pay extra for the Monitoring Service and cell phone backup is included (AT&T provides Ring with that).
FYI....You will have to see if your town requires a permit for Alarm System (mine Did Not).
When you activate your Monitoring Service Ring will check and notify you if you need one.
A:AnswerHello, you will have to see if your county/city mandates this. I live in an area where I don't have to have a certificate. For insurance purposes I would call and ask them if you get discount and what paperwork you would need.
A:AnswerIt's a stand-alone wireless system, so it wouldn't use any of the hardware (or wiring) left over from your old system. It uses your home internet to notify YOU if there's a security breach. And, it does this without any monthly fees. We love our Ring system!
A:AnswerHi Laydboss6,
You can use the Ring skill to manage all your Ring devices, including Ring Alarm. Simply enable the Ring Skill in the Alexa App, and link your Alexa and Ring accounts to get started. If you are new to Alexa you will need to download and install the Alexa app onto your mobile device before you can arm and disarm using Alexa.
