• The keypad is not needed in order to use the app controls.

• You can only control your Ring system with the app if your internet is connected. The internet sometimes disconnects and reconnects, in which case you would need the keypad to arm and disarm the system.

• You have to activate it when you activate the system but you don’t have to use it. If you trust technology enough to use just an app, that got 3 out of 5 stars in iTunes, then yes you can use just the app.
