Super Sharp Zoom Lens

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5This lens really surpassed my expectations. I was skeptical on buying it at first. I was more curious about how I would be able to use a telephoto lens in the shooting environment that I work in and it was more of a challenge to find a way to mix it in my bag. However, after shooting with it for the first time, I was shocked and it had my attention in a great way. Everything is an extreme close-up with this baby compared to my GM 24 - 105m f4 OSS and my Zeiss 16 - 35m f4 OSS which is actually a very intimate perspective on subjects being photographed. The clarity/sharpness of this lens makes that perspective truly remarkable and I don't see how spending over a $1000 more for the f2.8 could be justified. I highly recommend this lens and challenge you to see how you can put it to use in your bag!

Great lens for Sports

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I bought this lens from BB and it arrived very quickly. I use it with both my a7III and my a6400. I mainly use it for photographing my local MiLB Advanced-A baseball team from behind the outfield. It gives me just enough reach to get into the action with clear photos. When I move closer to home plate it blows me away. I highly recommend this lens to anyone that is looking for a fast lens that performs well in low light, but doesn't want to spend G Master money.

Excellent Build and Picture Quality
|Posted .I bought this lens to replace the 55-210mm kit lens I had for my Sony a6500 mirrorless camera. Let me say, I am BLOWN AWAY by the sharpness of this lens and how solid it feels. While it does have some weight to it, the constant f/4 aperture is truly amazing. I take lots of photos in a dimly lit hockey rink and compared to the kit lens, this guy does an amazing job. Very pleased with my purchase. Some example shots are attached. Both photos were shot at 1/800 shutter, f/4 aperture, 3200 ISO on a Sony A6500 at roughly 120mm focal length.

Excellent pro quality lens from Sony
|Posted .While it does not focus well in really low light, few lenses do. The sharpness and focus speed are very good. The weight is great for hand holding, stabilization works very well it feels really good on the a6000. My Nikon system cameras and lenses are way heavier and no better quality.

Great budget telephoto for Sony
|Posted .I purchased this lens as I wasn't sure I wanted to spend the $2700 on the 70-200 f2.8. While this isn't a cheap lens, compared to the other native Sony options, it's a deal. This lens is incredibly sharp, even wide open at f4. If you know know if you need the f2.8 or not, you probably don't and this lens will do great for you. It's also noticeably lighter than the f2.8 which makes it more reasonable to carry around on hikes and hand hold for awhile. You won't be disappointed in this lens.

Q: QuestionIs this lens capable with the Sony 6500?
Asked by edsony.
- A:Answer Yes it will fit on the A6500. In fact it fits on my NEX7 camera too. That's the good thing about Sony. Their full frame lenses fits onto their APSC sensor cameras. I suggest getting the full frame lenses. When you are ready to upgrade to their full frame cameras you don't need to buy new lenses for them because you already invested in lenses that already work on them.

Q: QuestionI have a A6000, is this good for long distance landscape?
Asked by HippoLover.
- A:Answer Yes it will be great due to the crop sensor on the a6000. Be aware that f4 is a bit slow and you will need to bump the ISO up a bit in low light. Other than that it's great. It will be a 105-350 on crop sensor roughly

Q: QuestionIs this lens suitable for indoor sports, primarily hockey? The f2.8 is way over my budget. Does anyone have experience with this f4 with fast sports in low light conditions? Thanks in advance!
Asked by ChrisO.
- A:Answer Maybe it would work indoors if you are using on full frame camera vs cropped. You should rent the lens first and see if it works for you.
