I bought this item for my boyfriend as a gift for his birthday two years ago, I've never seen a grown man so happy. Two years later he's still talking about it.

Christmas, I got one of these for pretty much every household in the family, and the feedback from that was very good. So I decided to treat myself. I haven't got fully into it, yet, but even at this stage I see the Dot as a very useful device. Alexa's language skills are excellent from the start. She even understands me when I don't have my teeth in. The basics - lists, time, weather, alerts, reminders, and the like - are excellent. Delving a bit into the apps (skills in Echo-speak), tweeting, texting, calling, and I assume, somewhere, emailing look like they're going to be useful and save time. I don't listen to a lot of music, but I'm looking forward to being read to. What I've found disappointing so far is that Alexa doesn't seem to know much. I've had "I don't know" to the few questions I've asked. Overall, a very fine and useful machine that I'm looking forward to exploring further.

I have nothing to say but great things about the echo is awesome I have one in every room I would highly recommend it to anybody and definitely get it at best buy

Echo Dot is a great little unit to use in rooms where your larger echo can’t hear you. It has great voice recognition and is able to perform all the commands as the Echo

Really neat little divice. Bought it for my son after his sister got the larger version. He loves to use it for music. I need to figure out if it has any parental controls though.

I initially started with a single Dot. Then added 2 more. And then 2 full size Echos. Great for in-house intercom using 'drop-in'. Then I found out I could use these to control my home automation system. Bonus! And this week Amazon released multi-room audio. Yes folks, for under $50 an Echo Dot will allow you to have multi-room audio, in sync, through out your house. IMHO the Dot, with it's aud-out, has now surpassed the Echo in terms of usefulness based on the aux-out feature alone. 'Alexa play KIRO 710 on upstairs' will get the Mariners or Seahawks game playing through the first floor of my house. Too cool!

this a great addition if you already have speakers and are looking for a voice activated smart device to control your home. works great. very happy with my purchase from best buy.

Very easy set up. Fun device! Love audible books while I'm getting ready for work. Alec's wake up call alarm was fun for a couple of weeks. Just keep finding new ways to enjoy.

The Dot can be used with multiple systems and is user friendly & adapts with the various skills that Amazon & independents develop for the system. Extremely powerful mic system can capture utterances from a good distance so be careful what you say ;)

Debated between Alexa and the others. Decide to try Echo Dot as it was on sale making this fairly cheap to see what the hype is all about. Still using it.

This was a great addition to our echo family. Our son gets a kick out of controlling the living room lights from his room. He uses the alarm and timer functions religiously.

I love my echo so much. Starting to incorporate a lot of smart devices into my home and being able to control them with the sound of my voice is super awesome

Great addition to your Alexa based house. Not great for music but they tell you that up front. Easy to setup and allows you to extend voice recognition throughout your home.

Love it. I turned my house into a smart home years ago and was using an app. When the echo came along I just paired the house to it and it's so simple to use

From an operations standpoint it's a no brained if you can find a two at a reduced price, but at the same price pickup the echo dot 3. It just sounds better.

Thought this did not have a speaker...but it does, it just is not as good as the Amazon Echo. But get a Bluetooth speaker...and it is wonderful. For the price, you cannot beat it.

Dont need full size, use dot with portable speaker for music, else non music sound quality is fine on Dot. Great to ask weather, sports scores, recipes ideas, and grocery list!

This is the perfect device for my newly installed Phillips Hue bulbs around the house! The fact that it connects me to my Prime membership is a huge plus as well!! Just awesome!

I used this Amazon dot as an intercom with another Amazon Echo... It works great

We didn't need the larger Alexa that provides the nice speaker, as we already have UE Booms, so it was nice to have this smaller and less expensive alternative. Works great!
