I used to visit magnolia home theater and used to look at the surge protector monteted in a rack with mesmerizing blue lights . but had no idea why was it so expensive and who would buy this thing. years later I bought it . picture quality on my tv is much batter. Subwoofer hiss is gone and gives me peace of mind that my equipment is protected . Money well spend to me its worth the investment

I looked at a hundred power protection solutions at different sites, and Panamax appears to be the best capability for the money. I use the M5300 to protect two of three $8000 workstations for video, 3D/animation, and rendering- all with expensive cpus, gpus, and RAM. I studied the M5400 and its simple voltage regulation, and decided it wasn't worth the difference. Do not need it for speakers and home theatre, but for what I do it works fine. The current info, filtering and power stability is great, though I can't tell much of a difference for screen quality. Eventually I will use this box to protect my $4000 NAS rack, and will get three high end voltage-regulating surge protecting UPSs for the main workstations. The UPS I was using for two workstations failed in the middle of some involved work and I lost more than I would have with a surge protector shutdown. I have continuous backup so the more crucial thing than power recovery is to protect against power spikes, voltage out of range, and damage to data and components. This is the best protection for the money to protect expensive equipment. The only better protection is an expensive high end UPS for each workstation- a lot of money.

It doesn’t matter if you’re purchasing the top of the line Entertainment Center, or if you can only afford a basic HDTV. The point is your paying your own money for those electronics. So why would you not want to protect those electronics with the best surge-protectors & power-conditioning equipment? Even one of Panamax’s most basic surge-protectors is not only reasonably priced but an outstanding effective precautionary product. (Especially for customers residing in Florida.) As for the Panamax 5300-PM surge-protector/power conditioner; I only trust & use this model for my own personal peice of mind. Because they definitely excel in all aspects of power issues that can damage your electronics. I have three (3) separate Panamax 5300-PM diligently working in three separate rooms that have a plethora of high-end electronics plugged into them. I also use the newer Panamax wall outlet replacement protectors as well. All Panamax products have a guarantee if they’re products fail and your electronics are damaged they replace everything & then some!

This is my third Panamax power product and I've never been disappointed. This is used to protect my LG OLED 65in, My Xbox one X , A TiVo Bolt Plus Vox, An Oppo UDP-203 and My MSI Nightblade desktop CPU which I use with the LG TV. I live in an area that the power will go off in storms so I feel comfortable with this product protecting my Man cave goodies. I also run my Comcast cable thru the unit and I've never had a problem. I really use it just for peace of mind.

Great product improved sound and clipping noise no longer there when turning off power

A well designed and functional power conditioner that works as advertised. It takes several days (week) to reach it's full potential but improvements to both picture and sound can be seen and heard immediately. Helps to deliver a clean, clear picture and vastly improves sound stage!

Now having a considerable investment in my audio system (Bowers & Wilkins, ARCAM, SVS, Onkyo), I decided it was time to upgrade my surge protection from a decent quality power strip to a well respected brand of high-end surge protection and power conditioning unit, the Panamax 5300. There is no doubt this is a huge upgrade in surge protection but there is a lot of debate about the effect of the power conditioning on audio performance. My personal experience with the Panamax has been very positive. The audio was already very good but is now more crystal clear and actually louder, with a broader sound stage. And my large screen Samsung is safe from our occasional power line losses. The Panamax just looks great on my audio rack. Very happy.

Purchased this to replace my old, but still fuctional, Monster power strip. (I relocated its use elsewhere) The Panamax is sleek and fits nicely side by side with other home theater components. It's light weight and each of the rear outlets are spaced far enough that it doesn't get cumbersome to connect all my cables. Not sure about connecting large box type plug-ins, but most of those should be phased out by now. It remains cool to the touch even when placed in an enclosed cabinet as i have it. Why four stars? Well it would be nice if you can dial down how bright the LED lights are. It's not an issue for me since it's in a cabinet but for others who may have it out in the open i can see how it can get annoying if you're trying to watch a movie in the dark. And the final reason i gave it four stars? Well its one i don't want to happen, but i guess it will happen eventually is how it will perform during an actual power surge. The controlled tests I've viewed online is one thing, but a real lighting storm creating multiple surges during a storm is another. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it works as it's supposed to. Also, i took advantage of the killer sale price at the time. I'm definitely happy with my purchase and highly recommend it, especially at the price point BB had it listed for.

I purchased this unit based on a suggestion by my local Best Buy Magnolia rep. I took quite some time to decide, as it is on the pricey side! While deciding and shopping around, I have found the same unit on the web cheaper, but there is a CATCH!! If you buy the Panamax product at a non-authorized dealer, the warranty is VOID!! Hmmm, seems there is a market cornered here, AND, it seems Panamax should only be distributing their items through AUTHORIZED dealers... right?!?! Well, after getting another positive referral from a friend that has one, and another from a Home theater shop, I bit the bullet and bought one. I did wait until my Reward Zone points came in from the 55" TV I bought, so I could at least feel a little better about the price! :) Now that it is installed, I can say it is a great addition to my system! It helped to clean up some of my wiring mess, along with keeping a clean picture and sound for my system! My only complaint is that Panamax add a 90 degree (right angle) plug, instead of the straight plug currently on the unit. The power cable is rather beefy, and the 90 degree plug would allow for furniture or TV stand to be pulled closer to the wall! Thanks Panamax!

Up until this purchase, I always used sub $100 surge protectors. Upgraded to the Panamax, and there is a noticeable difference in my video(65” plasma tv) there’s more contrast in the blacks. Also I’m sure the surge protection is better. I also use the 12v trigger to turn on power amps and my subwoofer.

This surge protector is just the right size to fit in an entertainment center and also the rear outlets are far enough away from each other to fit some of the odd shaped AC plugs. The front panel lights are nifty at first but eventually the brightness will take your attention away from watching the TV. I have eventually just dimmed the front panel lights and have no voltage reading showing at all.

easy to install --just what i needed--this replaced a battery back up one that went bad in just a little over two years--do not get a battery back up one!!!!!

I have always owned Panamax surge protectors and conditioners. Expensive, yes, but my home audio and video gear is way more expensive. A protector I bought in 1997 failed in 2012 from a lightning strike. All my HT equipment survived. Panamax credited my original purchase price towards the purchase of a new one. Awesome!! Have two more of these and know I am protected in a future event.

Looked for a power conditioner and surge protector that was affordable and high quality. This product has an excellent equipment protection policy as well as looking good in my cabinet

I had my doubts about this conditioner/protector. I knue it would help clean my power going to my devices but I never could of imagine it would completely change how they sound or the picture quality. I'm so glad I made this investment.

This is a nice power conditioner and does what it is supposed to...protect against power surges. I upgraded from an old Belkin power conditioner for my entertainment center and it has been doing a great job. It is non-sacrificial, bas a great informative display and powers off and on by itself. It has plenty of outlets for my Samsung 65KS9800 TV, Denon X4300H receiver, SVS subwoofer, Fire TV, 4K Bluray player, Velop node, ethernet switch, and some other components and I love the way the outlets are spaced out. We have had a few surges, outages and brownouts this year, including one that fried a hardwired PTAC unit but this has withstood the test so far. Full disclosure - I paid significantly less than the MSRP during a sale Panamax was running. At the full price, I would have hoped for voltage regulation but, at the discounted price, I am happy with my fancy surge protector. Whether it actually improves sound quality is debatable...that is not why I bought it (nor did I notice any change from my old Belkin conditioner). I wanted something to help protect my investment and so far it is doing its job. Only time will tell...

I purchased this after losing thousands of dollars of gear to a nearby lightning strike. All I really expected was enough extra protection to prevent another huge loss in the future. But to my surprise, the claims of improved audio and video performance were true-- my satellite TV pictures are noticeably crisper and quieter. If you are spending tgousands on high end gear, why not get the best protection you can? I should have done this years ago.

For anyone that isnt ready to spend 10’s of thousands on their AV equipment, this is for those next tier buyers. Expensive electronics need to be protected and the panamax unit gives me great piece of mins that my expensive equipment will be protected.

upgrade from the 4000 model well worth it had huge thunderstorm day after purchase and saved my equipment other electronics in the house not plugged into the panamax were affected 2 had to be replaced

Purchased this surge protector to insure all of my expensive A/V equipment would be ok. House had a power surge, and the Panamax did it’s job. I know this because only one cable (the coax to my modem/router) was not plugged into the Panamax and got fried. So make sure EVERY cord is plugged in and run through the surge protector to make sure you protect your equipment.
