A: Well this is a ridiculous question but I’ll answer this device can clear check engine light codes and turn that annoying light on your dash off in some cases these codes are left within you ecu from previous repairs or false readings and if your car is acting a little goofy clearing cel codes can sometimes fix issues because with these codes active the ecu is telling your car to run a certain way because it thinks something is wrong when actually there’s nothing wrong and if you download an app called car scanner this app literally tells you everything that’s going on with your car so if you do bring it in for repairs you can go in with some knowledge and make it seem like you’re mechanically inclined so you don’t get ripped off

A: Unless what ever is draining your battery is throwing a code, it will not detect the issue. Look for the basics - 1) how old is your battery? If over 5 years replace it. 2) at night when dark look over car thoroughly to make sure no lights are left on (trunk, glove box, door, brake lights etc). 3) have your charging system checked - many parts stores will check your battery and charging system for free. 4) have a parasitic battery drain test done on your vehicle. This checks the drain on each circuit to pinpoint the circuit puling the most current from your battery.

A: Buy this and download a app called car scanner it’s a blue icon with a check engine light code It doesn’t require WiFi and you connect the obd2 scanner in app in shows literally everything
Q: After your initual purchace is there a fee of any kind? Will this work on a 2011 v0lkswagen tiguan ?
A: There is no "fee" per say, but the basic app provides just that; basic information. I have yet to use it to diagnose any check engine issue(s). The app suggests to upgrade to a $67 yearly premium upgrade. That opens up a lot more useful features. I don't think so.
