Boost Office Productivity with Stream Deck Mini!

With 6 configurable one-touch control LCD keys, the Stream Deck Mini adds convenience & power to the desktop. Although it is designed for streamers to add one touch convenience, I find it useful for daily business computer use in my office. The weighted base keeps it in place & the slope of the top enables effective viewing of the buttons. This is a high quality accessory & is at home on any Mac or PC. I love how effortlessly (copy / paste) you can install specific icons to each button, move them around and change them at any time. The smaller size of the Mini is absolutely perfect for standard office desks. The full size Stream Deck requires too much desk space, and 6) programmable buttons is more than adequate to justify this productivity boosting dynamo! The USB cord was a little short to route it behind my monitor, where the cord would not show, so I simply added a USB extension cable - problem solved. CONCLUSION: The Stream Deck Mini requires less real estate on your desk than the full sized model & costs less. The 6-button configurable one touch control boosts productivity in any work environment. It earns my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION & has become the most frequently used accessory (I use it many times / day) in my office.

Device keeps on bricking itself unless I plug it into a new USB port - happening across multiple computers (since I ran out of USB ports on the first computer) so I'm assuming it's an issue with the unit itself? Seems like it can be useful enough, as long as it stayed working (though only for a short time...)

Best Stream Deck for Twitchers / Streamers

The Elgato Stream Deck Mini is the best stream deck for twitchers or YouTubers. I've been using it for a few hours now and I am IMPRESSED. Setup was easy. There's no need for drivers, the Elgato Stream Deck is recognized immediately by Windows 10. You do need to download the Elgato Stream Deck Mini Software (https://www.elgato.com/en/gaming/downloads) to configure the LCD screen. Setup was EASY and I had buttons custom linked to Mixer, Capturing Screenshots, twitter shout outs, and playing ads. The Elgato Stream Deck is limited only by your imagination and the 6 buttons are not a limitation, as you can have sub folders. You can also make to any keyboard combination, so I am planning to experiment with a productivity setting to cycle through some photoshop commands (just for fun). On the buttons, I thought I wouldn't like the membrane buttons but they work well. The size is also great, slightly bigger than a standard mouse. The feet/foot of the Elgato Mini is completely rubberized (don't forget to pull off the protective plastic) and I didn't have any movement issues with the Mini when I was jabbing buttons mid game play. That means, it stayed in one place. The LCD screen is bright and crisp. It's up there with the touchbar on the Mac. In fact I think the Elgato could be a way to give yourself a touchbar like experience on a Windows 10 PC. Which is why I can't wait to see if I can use this for double duty - gaming and work. It's impossible to fault the Streamdeck Mini. My only other observation was when unboxing it, the USB cable was packed in tight. It needs a firm yank to remove it from the box. That's not a negative review, just a tip for when you unbox it. Trivia: Elgato have been acquired by Corsair. So at some point I am guessing this will be known as the Corsair Stream Deck.

The device worked for a few days before it started causing BSODs and USB malfunctions on 3 different PCs. Tried with front panel, ports, rear I/O panel ports, PCI-E USB card ports. Was kinda neat to use while it worked though. Which it did, temporarily. Further investigation revealed this issue doesn't seem to be too uncommon for others that have purchased this device as well, or even worse the full size deck.

Convenient but a bit of a learning curve

Easy and quick initial setup but, there is a learning curve to get into the more detailed options. The software to set up the device is very intuitive and easy to use with plenty of quick options to choose from for multiple streaming services and a handful for options for regular hardware control. Some of the best functions I've found are quick access for multimedia control and quick launching of web-based applications. The buttons make a very quiet plunger noise but it is silent enough not to be heard while broadcasting. Very clean design with a rubber bottom to keep the unit in place while using it and uses minimal desk space. The screen is plenty bright, with the option to adjust the brightness as well. Very easy to read and use after setting the buttons to your preferences, including a very hand function to create folders that organize your hot keys for different apps! I would recommend this for any streamers that are looking for a few quick controls for silent interactions or those who use a lot of applications that you may need to be brought up quickly (i.e. office/productivity environment). For the serious streamer that use multiple broadcasting programs at the same time, I might recommend opting for the larger version.

    great deck to have.

I love this deck. it does make things easier. I hope to do a youtube video as well on a few things as I could not find out the answer and found it eventually on own. But overall, fun to have. I would start off by saying, yes you get 6 buttons. but in my opinion you only really get to customize 4.5 buttons lol. i say .5 because that .5 button is 2 buttons but all you can really do is change title and maybe how the button looks. so let me explain. i look at this like an iPhone or Samsung phone. you have apps, and you can then swipe your phone to see more apps. on this deck, you basically have apps, but you cant swipe. so my suggestion is that with each page in the lower right corner create a "create folder". this then allows you to have another page. the first page you actually get 5 buttons (i kept the default welcome button myself). after the first page you always have a back button so that eliminates a button that you can customize. (but you can change the look or put a text with it). then like i just said, i would also create a folder so that you can access another page. you don't have to but just something i suggest. if you don't then you do have a 5th button you can customize. that said, even with 4 buttons its fun. and you can easily create your own folders with names as well. for instance, if you want web pages. you can create a folder for web pages. you can then also create a folder within that folder to separate web pages if you want to access certain web pages with certain web browsers. now that said, comes my first complaint. It would be nice if the device made it easier for you to click the website button already in stream decks app and then paste a web address and then choose what web browser to open it with. not the case. I figured out for now (maybe an easier way) to create a icon on desktop for each web browser, then you drag that to the deck app. which then inputs the web browsers extension, then on that line copy and paste the web address. sounds harder then what it is but just a little extra. if you don't do this and only copy and paste the web address, it will then only open that web address under your default web browser. i don't use Microsoft edge but that is my default. just never changed. so all the web address stuff would open in that until i figured out how to actually get them to open in the right web browser i wanted. hope what i wrote above makes sense. I could not find anything on that and even tried support which only has been a couple days but still no response. however, with that, because i can set up specific web browser now, I have liked it even more. i also like that you can set up hot keys. most probably know there hot keys for what they do. like i use alt+f9 to start record. alt+z to open overlay etc. but after a while you forget or make a mistake etc. so when i want to or think i will record, i open up to my record tab and it has my hot keys already there, so i created a button and it has a label that says record and under that alt+f9 etc. this is handy for 2 reasons. first, i can just press a button now with 1 hand instead of having to use both to perform the function. and 2, i don't have to write all my hot keys down on a paper to remember. like i said, you can create folder after folder. so with what i said above, if you have some hot keys for ingame for instance. again, you can create a folder for games, then create a folder within the games folder for specific games. for instance pubg. then you can create the hot keys for that game in that folder. one hot key i use a lot is mute ingame sound. i mute this when at menu of game and until I just about land i will unmute. well now instead of having to use both hands or what ever, i can just use my deck and hit the button i have labeled mute unmute. I don't stream yet. one day i might have a nice enough computer that can handle playing and streaming. so my view for the deck is based around just an average gamer using it. and i can say i like it even if i don't stream. i can see a lot of benefits to it if you do stream but even if not there are so many benefits with having it. yes a lot of things you can set up macros for. or like i said, hot keys. but you do get limited with your keyboard on how many you can set. with this stream deck you don't. you also don't get visuals where as with the stream deck you can customize and get visuals. so my first page is set up basically with my wife's profile and mine. then within that we can customize to how we like. i set up web addresses for instance and then within that folder i separate web browsers and within that web addresses. so i click my initials, which takes me to second page, then i click the web addresses tab to take me to another page and then lets say i want twitch, i know i like to open that up with google chrome so i click google chrome and then i click on twitch and it will open twitch up in google chrome. yes i can click google chrome and then type t and enter and twitch comes up. but it actually just about takes just as fast to quickly hit the keys. but another tab i have for instance is record. i use nvidia myself for most. so i click my initials then record tab, then nvidia and then if i want to start record, i hit the record tab. if i want to mute my mic while recording i hit the mute mic tab, if i want to start the intant replay recording i hit that button and then if i want to save the last 15 seconds (or whatever seconds i have it set to) i hit that button. i don't have to try and remember what my hot keys are for it all. same if i am playing games that i can stream i might hit the live button etc. The deck already has a lot of things in the program that you can easily set and use. mainly again for streamers. and setting up the keys like i said, is as easy as picking what you want to do and dragging it over. i also love the size. its actually smaller then my Logitech G502 mouse. the cord is not the longest but long enough. ok for a few negatives and why 4 stars. i already explained that its not the easiest to set up web sites and have it open up in the browser you want. unless you use your default browser already for everything. for me some things i prefer to use internet explore for, while other things I like google chrome etc. so that is one thing. My other thing is that this is 100$ regular priced. i think this is a steep price being you can pay 150$ and get a deck with 15 buttons and that would probably be a lot better option being its a lot nicer to have more things show up instead of having to go to other pages. i feel this should have been at least half the price of the 15 button stream deck. for half the price, now it becomes do you want something that's a bit more compact or would you rather pay to get 3 more buttons. and it markets it as a Six fully customizable LCD keys which like i said, really is 5 after the first page and even then i would say more so 4. and i would say at least for me, each page should basically already have had the next page button in lower right button so you don't have to create that. especially because this is only a 6 button one. overall it is nice. i do recommend owning this or the bigger one.
