Dimensions are approximately L-5.5, W-2.25, H-2.25 inches. The Infantry Tank Mark II, better known as the Matilda II, was a British infantry tank of the Second World War, developed from the A12 specification in 1936 as a gun-armed counterpart to the A11 Infantry Tank Mark I. Initially called Matilda II or Matilda senior, it became simply "the Matilda" after the Mark I was abandoned in 1940. With heavy armor, it provided excellent infantry support but had limited speed and armament. The Matilda II is particularly associated with the North Africa Campaign and was the only British tank to serve from the start to the end of the war, though only two were available at the outbreak in 1939. It was replaced in front-line service by the lighter Infantry Tank Mk III Valentine beginning in late 1941.
