I owned an earlier model Thinkware and it worked great for years, so I chose to buy another (different model) for my new Jeep. I had Geek Squad install it (good job guys). I've downloaded a few videos using my phone and everything worked fine. The only issue I had was the transition from it being connected to the phone via Bluetooth to connected via the Wifi hotspot (which is required in order to playback video clips). Initially I didn't know the default password for the wifi and had to google it. But once I got that, it took a couple tries to connect and it finally did. Once past that, the transition happens seamlessly, although a little slowly, so you have to have patience. I know others don't like having to use the app to access their videos ( you could take the sd chip out and go plug it into your laptop or PC in the house) but, it works fine. One thing I don't like is the number of permissions absolutely required in order for the app to even start. They need to provide a readily visible detailed explanation of the reason it needs EVERY permission. Even good reputable companies need to acknowledge that the world wide web has gotten increasingly hostile, and should be upfront about EVERY, I repeat EVERY permission requirement, and don't make us DIG for it!
