Excellent lens
|Posted .So far I am enjoying the lens. While this class of lens is often considered a step up from beginner, do not let that persuade you away. It is well constructed, and is an excellent option on both FX and DX bodies. So far I have used it on my D7500 (my D850 will see more use from the 70-200mm f4). It is giving me the extra reach I need without weighing me down. As I shoot more I will update, by thus far am very happy. Sharpness and VR is great, but it will not make up for bad photography...you’ll need to know how to get everything out of a lens with variable aperture.

WOW! Best Wildlife Lens I've Ever Used
|Posted .I had been using the older "G" model 70-300 lens for wildlife, but decided to give this a try. The AF is superfast, and on my full frame it produced fantastic quality! Can't recommend this lens enough. Especially for wildlife, but it does great portraits too!

Beyond Expectations
|Posted .Pros mentioned:Focus, Picture qualityThere wasn’t much for reviews on this lens. Especially for wildlife photography. The lens is incredibly smooth at focusing and much faster than you’d expect. It’s very sharp and pics out immense detail for being in the middle of the road. The bokeh is superb. I’ve been incredibly happy with the lens thus far.

Great Match for the Nikon D7500
Posted .Pros mentioned:Picture qualityI’ve had this lens for a few months now, and have taken thousands of photos with it, primarily of birds in flight. And it exceeds my initial expectations in all regards. Despite is what some reviewers on YouTube would have you believe, this FX version of Nikon’s newest 70-300mm lens is quite sharp throughout the entire zoom range. The VR works very well. And target acquisition and tracking continuous autofocus works equally well. I’ve since purchased, and subsequently returned, two longer lenses (a 150-600mm and a 100-400mm) which I found to be too heavy and cumbersome for my type of shooting. While I did like that extra zoom range, I quickly found out that my keeper rate, of birds in flight photos, suffered when using those heavier lenses when compared to when I was using my noticeably lighter Nikon 70-300mm. Here’s a few BIF photos that I took with this great lens.

Great lens for those who need/can use it
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI bought this to use with the Z6 and I actually ended up returning it. Not that it wasn't good, it was, but it just didn't fit into the new Z cameras. (Yes, of course, I bought the FTZ adaptor to use it with the Z6.) So I rate it 5 stars, but I'm waiting for an S lens equivalent. In the meantime, I have the DX equivalent and also the 18-300 DX, so no worries. But if you have a full frame and don't want/need a "super zoom" to cover wide to tele, this will fit the bill. It's what it was made for. OTOH, consider the 18-300 FX as well.

Q: QuestionIs this lens compatible with the D3500?
Asked by jaa77.
- A:Answer The Nikone D3500 supports AFP lenses, and since this lens is an AFP lens it should work fine. However just to be safe I would check the Nikon site and make sure you have the latest firmware update.

Q: QuestionWhy does this cost so much more than the kit lense that came with my d3400? If i used this on my Nikon z6 could i use fx mode or would it autocrop to dx mode? Does it cover my whole full frame sensor?
Asked by Jacob.
- A:Answer This AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR Lens is the Full Frame version of the kit lens so it will use the FX Mode on the Nikon Z6. Also unlike the kit lens, this lens will include Vibration Reduction as well as offer an extra stop of aperture.

Q: QuestionI am using a D7200. This lens is shown as usable with "limitations". What exactly are those limitations? What firmware do I need for best compatibility?
Asked by COMDOCUSAF.
- A:Answer There are no limitations with this lens on a D7200. Someone might be confused that the DX version of this lens has limitations on a full frame body like the D750, but this lens is perfect on both formats. You might want to look at that DX version, it is very nice, cheaper, and specific to the DX sensor cameras like the D7200.

Q: Questionwill this work on my D750
Asked by newbe.
- A:Answer Yes, the AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR Lens (#20068) is compatible with the D750. The D750 should be running the most recent firmware version for full compatibility. Firmware, along with updating instructions, can be found on the Nikon Download Center: http://downloadcenter.nikonimglib.com/en/products/175/D750.html .

Q: QuestionWill this lens work with nikon D7000?
Asked by lensf.
- A:Answer No, the AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR Telephoto Zoom Lens will not be compatible on the D7000. While this lens may fit, it will not have the ability to be recognized or be able to auto-focus due to this lens being an AF-P lens. AF-P lenses use a new type of focus system that the D7000 does not communicate with. The D7000 is compatible with AF and AF-S type lenses.

Q: QuestionI get confused with how to identify fx vs dx lenses. So is this lens compatible with all full frame cameras? Will it work on the d850?
Asked by Nikond850.
- A:Answer All Nikon lenses that are made for the DX crop format cameras will specifically have DX in the name of the lens. If they do not say DX in the name it means it is an FX or Full Frame lens. This AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR is optimized for FX or Full Frame cameras, as there is no DX in the name of the lens. This will be compatible will the Nikon D850 Digital SLR camera.
