Buying the geek squad protection is definitely a must when buying a camera!

The 4 year warranty is a no brainer when purchasing a $1700 digital camera. The warranty through Geek Squad is terriffic and we have used it every year with our prior A7 Sony digital camera's. With this warranty you get a free cleaning and update to software each year. They calibrate it and send it back with it like new. We have had digital Sony Cameras purchased from BB since 2005 and have had two camera's replaced on the warranty and had every camera serviced each year under the warranty. It again is a no brainer if you intend to be serious about picture taking, and caring for your digital cameras.

I will say, I started to look into buying this camera because everyone was posting about it. I gave in and saw it was available, so I jumped at the opportunity, and it did not disappoint. It has a ton of features and cool settings to use and make your pictures and videos pop. I also chose to buy the 4-year Geek Squad protection. When I talk to them, they are super friendly and quick to answer my questions. So far, I haven't had any major issues with the camera, just questions and they are always ready and able to help.

I bought a camera that was having issues when I got it. Shortly after purchase I took it in for service because the lens extended in and out and powered off and on . The malfunction ended up making it not usable. It was determined that I would receive a replacement. I am grateful and appreciate the service .

Great product plan to buy if your like me and use your camera in environments that could cause some wear or damage. Anyway you look at it it’s a small price to pay over 4 years to know that your camera is covered no matter what. Good way to have peace of mind.

I no longer work or am associated with Best Buy and I still make sure to have it on every item I purchase. Its always great to have the peace and mind that when I make a large purchase, if anything happens to it early on I am covered and dont have a large out of pocket expense going down the drain.

This is great for tech and teens using tech and service

I had issues with an online purchase so I went to a Best Buy store and the Geek Squad was able to return the camera I bought and let me rebuy it, using all my gift cards and reward certificates. There was an issue with the return going through and said it would be an hour or so before it showed up on my account so the agent told me I could go home and he'd call me when it went through. Sure enough, he called me at home about an hour later to confirm! He went above and beyond!

I'm always skeptical about warranties. I hate third party stuffs. I bought this extended service plan or warranty in hopes that if my camera defects or gets damaged I will be helped without any hassles. I will give a good ratings now cuz they explain to me the warranty in a manner that I could understand and I feel that I will be helped when I need. I just hope I don't have to jump through hoops to get help on a warranty.

Accidents happen. Period. I usually don't but accident insurance or extended warranties. But I am practical. Consider buying these types of coverage if you expect to be using your device more often than it just sitting in you bag or displayed in your room. Another words, if you intend to use your device often, buy it. I think Geek Squad offers some good perks like yearly check ups or inspection. If the device fails to perform, they'll make it right. What more can you ask? You may or may not end up using the service, but its comforting and a relief if you ever should have to.
