Mic stopped connecting to pc after a month. I think it may be due to a faulty wire. If I pay this much for a mic I expect it to work properly. Very disappointed because I was really looking forward to it.

The Mighty Blue Yeti!

This Blue Yeti X Professional USB Microphone is so much more than I thought it would be. (And the Blackout NOIR version is gorgeous!) Although I’d never had the opportunity to use an audio device of this type before, my interest was piqued; primarily because I now had a need for a good microphone, and Blue Yeti was a brand I had heard great things about.
I’ve been wanting to get a Blue Yeti microphone for some time now. Not only to be able to do my own audiobook recordings for my authored publications, but also for potentially doing some video game streaming, and for making YouTube videos.
I will say there is a bit of a learning curve with regards to figuring out what all this microphone can do and what it’s capable of, especially for someone like myself who has virtually no experience using a professional microphone of this caliber. Being reasonably tech savvy has indeed helped. Once again though, I found the lack of included printed instructions to be disappointing. The Quick Start Guide which comes with the microphone, just isn’t detailed enough. However, if you go to Blue Designs website and search for this particular model, you can view a helpful user’s manual there.
Downloading Logitech’s G HUB software, is a must!
Without me going into all the cool customizations available via the software, be prepared to spend some time playing around with the microphone’s audio settings - find what works for you, really listen for the subtle differences in sound and how that comes across through your headset or speakers, hear what your voice sounds like and the various ways it can be modified to suit what you’re wanting. For my purposes, creating an audiobook recording of me reading my own material, the Cardioid pickup pattern would work best. My favorite Blue Voice Filter Presets were: AM Radio, Broadcaster 2, and Warm & Vintage.
You can clearly see the quality of the build for this impressive audio device. However, it is more than just the visual beauty of the mic itself, but rather, it is the outstanding features and performance of this Blue Yeti X Professional USB Microphone which earns my praise. In my opinion, this mic is worth its cost, and based on my experience with it so far, I can most certainly recommend.

Best streaming mic I have ever owned

I have been using several mics for gaming and recording announcements for my work. This Blue Yeti X blows any mic out there in the market asway. Quality os sound is outstanding and super clear even with being placed not too close to me. Four voice pickup patterns to manage the recording or streaming as needed (Cardioid, Omni, Bi-Directional and Stereo). Installation is setup is straightforward with G-Hub to preset and customize the lighting effects of the mic volume knob and Mic on/ mute function and other options. There is audio jack 3.5 to hook up headphones. I have tested with a friend of mine using Skype and unbelievably he recognized the voice quality from the first moment we talked. In addition, I have recorded some important messages for my work and I can tell how clear my voice was. Highly recommended if you are looking for an excellent investment in Mics,m this is the best choice "no brainer" simple, elegant, Lighting matches my setup! The mic base is well weighted and well made.

Excellent Microphone with Lots of Settings

The Blue Yeti X is an excellent microphone with a ton a features and useful customizations. My wife has been using the Yeti Nano since around the time it came out and while it is also an excellent microphone this is definitely a step up.
A little background - my wife record a podcast about once a week. We bought the Yeti Nano for that and she’s been really happy with it. The smaller size is nice, but it’s limited to 2 pickup patterns and no gain adjustment.
The Yeti X by comparison is MUCH larger and more substantial, though it gets you a 4-capsule array instead of 2. Up front there is a multi-function adjustment knob and around the back is the pickup pattern toggle. The bottom has the USB connection and the headphone jack. The construction feels very high-end throughout.
The front knob can be toggled to control microphone gain, headphone volume, and blend between computer audio and microphone feedback. The button around the back toggles the pickup pattern between 4 modes - cardioid, omnidirectional, bidirectional, and stereo. It’s a surprising amount of control built into just one button and knob, but after a short learning curve I found it to be very intuitive.
Connecting and using the microphone we definitely noticed the difference between the Yeti X and the Nano. Voices through the Yeti X have more clarity and fullness by comparison, though the difference was fairly subtle. The Yeti X can also be customized through the Logitech G Hub. The LED lighting on the microphone can be customized to any color you like, and all of the microphone controls can be changed there as well. More importantly, there are now voice effects you can set to change the sound of your voice and they are very well done - they add a subtle personality to your sound without being too ridiculous and it’s definitely worth messing around with.
I don’t think you can go wrong with any microphone from Blue, but if you’re looking for a USB microphone that has it all this is it.

At just about 11.5 inches tall when mounted in the very sturdy metal stand the Blue Yeti X stands out as a formidable usb microphone for many use cases. The Yeti X came wonderfully packaged and it felt extra secure with all of the foam padding inside. Connecting the Yeti X was extremely easy and the GHUB software (that I already had pre-installed due to my computer mouse) detected it right away. There are many options given to customize your microphone like filters, compressors, eq, noise reduction etc as well as four different pickup patterns (back side button cycles through them). The four pickup patterns are Cardioid (solo podcast/streaming), Omnidirectional (360 recording/groups), Bidirectional (interviews/duets) and Stereo (realistic recording, guitar/asmr). The front knob has an LED metering feature so you can see if your current input and the knob itself lets you adjust the gain and it doubles as a mute button when pressed. You can adjust the colors of the LED lights to your liking as well as change them from a solid color to a breathing pattern. If you have a favorite streamer or content creator that uses the Yeti X they can actually share their microphone profile and you can import their settings very easily with the GHUB software. There are plenty of features for all types of creators and the build quality of the Yeti X is great, I have no qualms about recommending this to anyone that wants to upgrade their audio game.

A Streamer's Dream Mic

I'm just going to cut to the chase. This USB microphone is amazing. I honestly think that if you are remotely interested in streaming and broadcasting, you owe it to yourself to fork over the measly $170 asking price and get this thing into your media center. The way it picks up every little thing. The ease of setup. The ability to save different settings for different styles of podcasting. Oh My Goodness!! Did I mention how flipping beautiful it is? I didn't? Ok. It's gorgeous! I've gone from doing retakes after retakes from my original setup, to doing one shot videos just because of how comfortable I have become, knowing my sound is practically perfect. I feel like a professional. I could gush over this mic for hours, but that would keep me from filming, so I'd better wrap this up. Go pick this Yeti X by Blue, up and make that game streaming, YouTube beaming, movie screening, podcast dreaming fan of broadcast media the happiest person on the web. I am so happy to have one and I know you will be as well. I highly recommend this mic. A Definite Must Buy.

A friend of mine has been raving about how fun it is to do impromptu podcasts. His one recommendation - get a really good microphone!
He told me that unless I produced in a studio, a good multi-pattern mic would make up for a lot of poor conditions and my lack of production skill.
He was right.
The Blue Yeti X is very simple to set up and very simple to use. It’s powered by a micro-USB and outputs to headphones or your computer. I quickly discovered why the multiple (four) pattern modes are so important. The modes allow you to obtain more focused or more ambient sound depending on the locations of your sound sources. There’s a set of LEDs that represent metering (input/recorded) sound levels, chosen microphone gain or headphone volume depending on dial modes. There’s also a mute button. Pretty much all you need.
After some trial and error, frankly willful to test the pattern modes, I was able to record very nice quality audio in no time. That’s what a microphone is supposed to do!

Sounds As Good As It Looks

I've used Blue microphones for all of my podcasts and voiceover work. They're reliable, high-quality, and the audio engineering matches the attention to detail on the exterior design.
Blue Yeti X Pro is a great step up if you're looking for a mic upgrade or looking to jump into the streaming or podcasting world.
If you're used to the Yeti, the form factor and UX elements on this mic are going to be very similar. The connector, rather than being a mini-USB is now a micro-USB. There's one additional capsule vs older Yetis which seems to vet out in recording quailty.
Of the four modes, most streamers and podcasters will take advantage of the cardioid function, but for interviews, this performed *stunningly well* using the bi-directional mode. Versatility seems to be the name of the game here.
Audio quality: simply put, you're gonna need to spend a significant amount of money to get better audio quality with as many options as the Blue Yeti X Pro gives you. Because it's a condenser mic, your voice will stand out in your videos/podcasts like you're sitting right next to your listener... and you can adjust the compression via software super easily (I've added a screenshot of the software tweaks you can make ON THE FLY - each setting has advanced settings as well as numerous presets you can enable in realtime). You can even save your own presets.
Interface: the mute button now doubles as a gain adjuster as well as an on-mic LED meter. This can be kind of distracting if you're typing or something, but it's overall a really neat addition (and visual indicators about the status of the mic abound). The pattern adjuster is now a button instead of a knob and is also software selectable utilizing either Logitech G HUB or Blue's Sherpa software. Integration with G Hub is great for the gaming streaming contingent (especially if you're doing machinima).
The software's vocal effects are cute and fun if you're not doing heavy post-production on your audio; it's also cool they can be applied in real-time. The audio processing seemed to occur either partially or fully on the microphone itself as I didn't notice a performance hit in using the effects.
The first time you connect the mic it helps to have the Sherpa software running. I experienced some minor connectivity issues at first on macOS Catalina. Windows 10 had no such issues. After a quick reboot, the connectivity issue went away.
I've loved and gifted Blue mics to my friends for years... I'm not about to stop any time soon. They're hands down some of the best microphones out there in terms of versatility, sound quality, and price and the Blue Yeti X is the latest torchbearer.

The Yeti X microphone is a standout for anyone looking to upgrade their audio setup, whether for streaming, podcasting, or content creation. The sound quality is exceptional, with crisp, clear voice capture and rich tones. It features four different pickup patterns (cardioid, omnidirectional, bidirectional, and stereo), allowing for versatile use in different environments. The built-in LED display is a nice touch, showing your mic gain and volume levels in real-time.
The build quality is solid, and the mic has a premium feel. It’s plug-and-play with USB connectivity, making it super easy to set up. The Yeti X also integrates well with software like OBS and Zoom, and it works seamlessly on both Windows and Mac. The only downside is that it’s a bit bulky, but for the sound quality and features, it's well worth it.
Overall, the Yeti X is an excellent choice for anyone looking for professional-grade audio at home.

Superb sound quality. Fussy to set up in Windows - the software is great, once working. You do need to play with windows sound settings and potentially also your onboard sound settings - this mic likes to be the default input. Also - use a powered USB hub to attach the device. If your USB socket is underpowered (very common) your sound quality can be hugely affected.

I work in corporate learning and create training videos, so I need a semi-professional mic to help me record. The Yeti has been my go-to mic for years because it's so easy to get set up, it has great sound quality, and it's super reliable. There aren't any crazy apps you need to download -- just plug in and go.
The next step up from this would be a Shure, which will run you over $200. So, for under $100, the Yeti is a very good substitute. I recommend this mic to all my friends looking to play around with recording audio before investing a ton of money. And if you want to eventually swap the static base for an arm that clamps to your desk, you can find different attachments through Yeti or third-party sellers.
If you're just getting started with streaming, podcasting, or voiceover work, this is a great starter mic for your kit.

As the title states the mic does what its suppose to do. Its a very good starter to mid-tiered mic. I'd give the mic a 4/5 on sound quality. The quality is pretty good but not excellent. Originally bought it for ASMR content. You will have to adjust the mic frequently to find your desired results. The background static will be noticeable. The build quality gets a 5/5. Its beautiful and feels very well made. I do recommend getting this mic as its still a good price for what you're getting. Just dont expect studio quality sounds.

When the Covid-19 pandemic happened, I had to switch to online teaching. (I'm a university professor.) I bought this microphone to get better sound both during Zoom meetings and also while prerecording lectures with Camtasia. It records MUCH better sound than the microphone on my webcam. It is easy to use. It might be a little taller than you expect if you haven't seen one in person. If you're worried about desk space, make sure to check out the specs before buying it.

This Blue Yeti X Professional Mic is excellent. It's basically plug and play. The sound quality is excellent. The settings are provide exactly what you need based on the type of broadcast you are doing. I would highly recommend this mic. However, if you are trying to hook this mic up to your iPad Pro to use it for stream yard or zoom, it didn't work well for me. However, it wells perfectly on my MacBook Pro.

One of the best USB microphones that I've ever worked with. The settings are easy (and quite forgiving) to use and tune to your specific voice to get the best clarity out of it. This microphone is easy to use, and definitely recommended is installing the G Hub software (it allows access to more advanced settings in the microphone).
The G Hub software is good if you don't want to spend money on separate things like a digital USB audio interface, which would require buying cables, a microphone, and a processor for some of what you get in this microphone's advanced settings (e.g., compressor, de-esser, expander/gate, hi-pass filter, noise reduction, limiter).
A cord longer than what's included would be nice, but no complaints here.
