This replaces an older Brother MFC I had for 9 yrs. It was relatively easy to set up. One minor inconvenience was having to "register" paper tray after filling. I can print from my iphone & ipad after setting them up.2 side printing is another great feature. You can't beat the price for everything you get. Technology has come a long way!

Its scanning design is terrible. You can't choose to let it automatically create a pdf file containing all images of one scan for you. You have to manually select all images from all previous scans, press "save as pdf", then you have to select all images again (yes, again, after pressing "save as pdf"), then press the button again, so that it create a file for you. What is the point of this? Why on earth do you have to select all the images again after already pressing the save button? It does not make any sense. Also, don't be fooled by its low price tag. It is an inkjet printer, which means you have to spend a lot on cartridges that are literally more expensive than the printer itself. And of course, they make it extremely hard to refill. You have to get those $70+ CAD cardridge that have 5 colours and only print 600 pages every time the black ink runs out, despite that all other four colours ink are pretty much intact. Get a laserjet printer, they looks more expensive, but they are more sustainable and cheaper in the long run. They come with 1000+ pages worth of ink and for each cartridge you can print 3000+ pages. Inkjet printers are just a scam.

I've had this printer for long enough to replace the black ink cartridge. I been able to live with the quirkiness and slow printing of this dog until now. It shows a code 5100 and locks up the printer. I have checked all the remedies and still no results. New ink did not solve the problem. I'll get it to work on occasion, but it always recedes back to the same error. Now I've got $55 worth of ink and nothing to use it on. Should have just bought a new HP before I bought the ink. That's what I get for buying a CHEAP printer. It always costs more when you go the cheap way.

This is by far the worst home printer I have ever had. It constantly wants you to "register" the paper, there are removeable parts in the tray which can fall out and get lost easily, it uses the rear and front trays arbitrarily, and it is extremely slow to start and connect to Wifi. It takes me 10 minutes to print a basic Word document. I plan to throw this off a roof someday.

The one i bought was made in Vietnam, I'v been using it for approximately twenty times, and then the painting started to be flurry and it take longer time to print by making weird noise. I remember Canon printers used to be very good, what happened these years?
