Decent product to replace Nest that Google sadly discontinued. Easy to install as replacement with included conversion kit. Only negative - is no night light built in. Sadly nobody seems to do this though, now that Nest is essentially gone.

It is a great replacement for a regular smoke detector, easy to setup and works with Google smart home devices.

As advertised, this is a great direct replacement for an out-of-service Nest Protect, very easy to plug-and-play if you have the Nest Protect already installed. Once done the Google/Nest app recognizes it and integrates it seamlessly with any other Protects you have.

I bought this specifically because it was designed to replace the Google Nest Protect which was discontinued by Google. It connects to other Nest smoke detectors so that’s good but its build quality doesn’t seem to be as good as the old Google products. The volume of the audible warning is not as high. Time will tell if it holds up as well as the Google product.

As Google Nest Protect smoke/co detectors go end-of-life, this is currently the only option for homeowners looking for smart functionality and integration with Google Home. Not going to lie, these are a step backwards from Nest Protect. Build quality, industrial design, and speaker quality is overall inferior while price remains very high. Functionality is fine, but these really make me miss the original Nest Protect and would be more more attractive in the $75 - $99 price range.

This was purchased to replace one of several Nest Protect units that are about to expire. This was one of the contenders as a replacement and so it is working fine. The lack of motion lightning is disappointing, but the integration into Google Home was easy and works fine.

Bought 4 of these item and one of them gave me so many false alarms that i had to return it.

The product just Works as advertised no complaints

This is a good replacement for the nest protect alarm. It was easy to set up and connect to my smart home.

My home remodel allows me to have the smoke alarms hardwired now. I no longer have to worry about battery runs out and hearing the non-stop chirp.

Apparently when my house was built, the wiring for the smoke detector was placed in the hallway next to the bathroom. Nearly every time somebody goes in there to take a shower the steam from the bathroom sets off the smoke detector. I wish that I had a way to move the wiring without having to hire an electrician! They really need to set an option in the app to turn down the sensitivity.

Nice that it is compatible with existing nest smoke detectors. Like the interconnected aspect. Didnt realize hoe many features nest originally had i.e. night light, interconnected without red wire. These dont check every box, but most.

Retrofit was a bit longer than expected but overall a great product!

They are easy to install and compatible with the old Nest detector’s base.
