Perfect for replacement and the closest option to the features that were on the Nest product. I wish it also had the path light that Nest had. I was impressed that they made it work with the Nest installation plate so that makes installation easier.

I replaced three Nest smoke alarms with these all ready and they work great and used the same bracket as the Nest alarms. Very easy to use the new Resideo app that First Alert uses.

Working fine. Not quite as nice as the Nest it replaced. When 1 alarm goes off they all alarm but do not announce which room has the issue. I believe you have to check the app for that.

This isn't a one-off problem. I bought THREE of these units and they ALL had false alarms. I paid $400 thinking I was solving a problem for years to come. How is this company even in business with products like this? The First Alert devices were to replace my Nest expired ones. I planned to buy more as the rest of the Nest devices in the house expired. Now I have to return all of them. Or throw away all 3 of them if I'm unable to return. I had one of the units start blaring for no reason at 5am a few days ago. I took it off the ceiling and planned to return. A couple of days later at 7am, another unit started screaming about "smoke detected." I silenced it. Five minutes later, again "smoke detected." And again and again with both of the remaining "smart devices." I took the remaining units off the ceiling and they're going back to Best Buy or in the trash. How is this possible? Especially when these First Alert detectors are so expensive? I've had the cheap-o devices for years with zero issues. Then the Nest for years with zero issues. Have these First Alert devices been QA'd? Rushed to market? The fancy connect features are nice, but they're useless if the base underlying functionality is broken. Not only are false alarms annoying and inconvenient at 5am, but they make everyone in the house not trust the smoke detector in the future.

Easy to install as it has adapter wires for previous nest and the existing holder works with the new detector. I wish though it would light up at night like the old detector

Very easy to set up. Works like they say it supposed to. I will replace the other one also with the same one.

Bought as a replacement for nest protect. Install is fairly simple. However, it is not as feature packed as the nest. May also be a little too pricey but if you are looking to stay with the nest ecosystem, then this is likely your best option

Several give false alerts for no reason. Have had to replace 3 of my seven units after only a month

I was replacing the nest smoke detector that was expiring with this one as the nest is discontinued. With that being said its a good replacement and works with the nest app but it looks and feels a lot cheaper then nest. It also does not have the pathway light that nest does. Again being that i cant get the nest replacement anymore i would definitely buy this again.

As Google Nest Protect smoke/co detectors go end-of-life, this is currently the only option for homeowners looking for smart functionality and integration with Google Home. Not going to lie, these are a step backwards from Nest Protect. Build quality, industrial design, and speaker quality is overall inferior while price remains very high. Functionality is fine, but these really make me miss the original Nest Protect and would be more more attractive in the $75 - $99 price range.

Solid replacement for your old Google Nest Protect (no longer made). Integrates well with other Google Nest Protects you may still have in your home (i.e. they will talk to each other should you have a smoke or carbon monoxide alert). Works with the Google Home app, after you download and install First Alert app first (2-step process). The voice alerts are a bit muffled compared to the Google Nest Protect, but still quality enough to hear and understand them. I would recommend this item to anyone looking for a plug and play replacement for your old Google Nest Protect.

Replacement for the Nest Protect. Works like the other Nest units except for the motio activated night light. Must connect to other nest units using Google instead of the Nest app.

Very easy to install and fully compatible with the NEST device I had.

I liked this so much that I ended up buying 2 more. I hope First Alert will listen to their customers, and in the future, add a night light. This is the best smoke and carbon monoxide detector on the market right now.

This would have been better if First Alert had cloned the Nest technology and features. I miss the nightlight. I think that this will be an adequate replacement for my Google Nest detectors.

Nice that it uses same mount and wiring as previous Nest Protect, just wish it had the path light feature. Seems expensive for what it is but can’t put a price on safety I guess.

Easy install and setup The first alert app is intuitive and easy to use

I had to swap to this unit due to Nest Protect no longer available, Follow the instruction and setting up in first alert Resideo is very smooth. I was able to integrate with both Nest and Alexa. However, the quality of the unit (design, material, etc) is nowhere near the nest protect while it costs about the same. At least it uses the same bracket. Opt for a cheaper model unless you are trying to replace Nest Protect.

Quality device and works with Google Home. Easy to add, although you have to add one more app to your phone. Wish it had a spotlight like the Nest App. And be careful to make sure you get the wired or the battery option depending on your need.
