The cable has a small flaw. You have to shave off the side a bit so it will fit next to the power clip. It is such an easy fix. But if you do not want to shave off the side, don't buy this cable.
You can see in the picture below how it fits perfectly after shaving off a little bit of the side.

I had a $5 coupon and needed a SATA cable, so I bought this. It works. The tiny flaw is on the right angle plug. The plastic housing flares out by the sides of the plug. The SATA tab on internal hard drives is flush against the power tab. The power connector pushes against the flared side on the SATA, causing it not to plug straight, but skewed. It cracked the plastic on the plug. But it still works. I will try to cut off the part that sticks out so it will plug straight. Don't know why it's made this way.

The only serial cable in the store was in the Apple section. The length was a snug fit between the MB and SSD. The ends made a firm connection with the contacts. the cable is working properly. Check the length of the cable for your needs.

The cable went on with no problem. I thought that I would nave to cut it or it would not be long enough to reach my hard drive but no it went on with no problems. Thank You Best Buy great product and value.

The cable has a straight connector on one end and a 90 degree connector on the other end. My server drive rack is hinged so you open it like a door. Any drive mounted in the rack requires the 90 degree connector be plugged into the drive. I discovered that the molded 90 degree plug is too wide at the bend to fit along side of the power connector. The fix was to take a sharp knife and shave the plastic that extends past the side of the actual plug. That allowed the cable to plug in along side of the power connector. The straight connector end is fine. If the 90 degree end is connected to the mother board there is no problem.

SATA cable is "LEFT" angled not "RIGHT"

I got these because Best Buy is the only place in my medium-sized town that keeps SATA cables in stock. I wanted to support the company during the pandemic for that reason. Sadly the cable I received has two issues that kept me from using it.
For one thing the cable points the "wrong" way when plugged into the drive. Instead of pointing down along with all the other wires, the plug angles up. I probably could have fit the cable otherwise... EXCEPT
For another thing, the angled end of the cable has widened "ears" or "nubs" on the sides (see the photo of it attached to a SSD) so that you cannot plug it in next to the power cable on the drive. I was a little desperate, so I also tried using it the other way -- with the straight connector on the drive and the angled end on the motherboard. (see photo of cable on motherboard) In order to fit there, the cable had to angle up along the edge of a SIMM socket. That was not ideal but I was able to get it to work enough to determine the cable was not electrically defective.
I decided I was concerned enough about the fit of this cable I removed a cable from another computer and decided I would return this one to Best Buy.
I'm giving the cable two stars because I determined that the cable works electrically, but I'm giving no more than two stars because I would not have bought it if it had a clearer description. I believe the shape of the plug will make it unsuitable to a lot of folks like me. If this had been labeled "LEFT ANGLE" cable I think that might have clued me in to look at the image very carefully. Of course this would need to be on the web site because I bought this without going into the store.
I'm including a photo of the box that shows the angle fairly clearly, but of course you also have to look at the SATA keyway on the drive to see what angle cable you're looking for.

This cable has two design issues.
1) The right angle end has the lip upside down for hooking to a hard drive. I luckily had another cable that was fine.
2) Even if it had been correctly designed the head has a large lip on it that is too fat for it to hook in next to a sata power cable.
This cable is basically useless and its not worth my drive over to try and return it. So in the trash it goes.

I bought the SATA cable to upgrade an old computer. I went to try the cable inside the computer, and it didn’t fit. I went to try it on another computer, and it also didn’t fit. I found out that it seems that the cable is male-to-male instead of male-to-female.

Hi Midnight,
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review on our Serial ATA cable. We understand that this cable was important for your setup. We know it can be disappointing when the product purchased is not what we need. Though this did not work for you we hope you were able to find the right cable to fit your setup. Remember you can make use of the exchange policy at the store, in the case that you have no use for this Male to Male cable. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact our team at any time.

Pro's
- They do work
- 2' long
- They're BLUE
Con's
- They're BLUE
- The molding needs to be shaved off on the sides to fit it along side a power plug on an ssd drive etc.
- The 90 degree bend is the opposite direction from all other similar cables I have. Notice the direction of the L. This could be listed under the Pro's section for some builds I suppose.
- No Locking tabs. If you have your hands in the case for any reason, do yourself a favor and remember to push them back in firmly before putting the doors back on.

I use these SATA cables often for my builds as I went with a blue look for inside my case. Great quality, perfect length even if you are using a full size ATX case like I am, and snap in perfect. The only small little issue I do not like is the 90 degree bend on one of the ends make it a little bulky and hard to plug SATA power in, but you can do it! I do plan on getting more of these so everything matches

I bought this to add an SSD into my system, and it's exactly as described. But be sure to doublecheck your physical configuration beforehand- with how my system was set up I wasn't able to use this one as the right-angle was angling downwards from the SSD, and that's not physically possible with where my SSD was mounted.
Nothing wrong with the cable itself though.

Great product. Used to install a second hard drive in my HP desktop. Needed a right angel SATA cable just like the original one installed from the factory. Ample length and perfect fit to the on board connection. Will order another one for my Dell desktop since it required the right angle type cable. Another note; is that the cable is the same color used by the manufacture of my Dell so it looks great.

I needed a cable as a first-time installer of an SSD. I didn't check the configuration of my computer before I bought this cable so the right angle shape was not a perfect fit for my computer. However I was able to get it to somewhat awkwardly fit and so far the SSD is working perfectly and the cable was a good purchase.

Nice and simple to use SATA cable. Sadly had to mount it a little different since my GPU was blocking my SATA ports on my MB and instead of the 90 degree going into my SSD and the straight connector into the MB, did it the other way round. Otherwise, nice and simple SATA cable that got the job done

I was getting my old "backup" computer repaired at Best Buy, trying to install a newer, bigger hard drive, in an older HP machine, to go from a 2Tb HD to a 4Tb data HD. Because the native Win 7 OS on that machine would not recognize larger than 2Tb HD's, they tried but could not clone the new drive to get my Windows 7 OS to move to the new drive, and to get it to work in the older HP environment. The tech had a creative solution and said he would try adding this PNY internal Solid State HD to the computer box, and then put the start up files, & Win 7 OS, on the SSD HD. That Worked. What is very cool about the Tech. doing that, was the side benefit of a much more rapid start up, when I turn that computer on now. It used to take ~10 minutes or longer to get this older HP CPU started, since it is normally kept turned off. Now it starts up and is ready to use in about 2 minutes...... very impressive. This SSD HD was not very expensive, and was a creative solution to upgrading an older computer.
The tech needed to hook up the new SSD HD via a new SATA Cable, to an open SATA cable port in my CPU box, so he sold me this SATA cable, and it works fine, and was inexpensive, and does the job.

Whenever I purchased the SATA data connector, I was skeptical of the price. However, due to the deal going on at the time, I was willing to purchase it. As the box advertised, the cable was 2 feet long and had no issues when the cord needed to maneuver in slim areas for wire management. The only downside that I found with this was the standard of quality. The sata connector had a tougher time connecting and being removed from the SATA ports on my motherboard then what I had anticipated. I usually get my SATA cords used, so I will presume that the stiff connection is normal. All and all, the price is worth it when you account for the length and the guarantee that the product is new.

Worked as expected, however, I had to take a razor blade and take off a fraction of an inch on the rubber right-angled connector to fit next to the power cable on my new SSD. Other than that, fit and works as expected!!

Needed a SATA cable to connect SSD to motherboard. Checked internet sources but, local Best Buy was cheapest and faster to obtain. Finished computer SSD upgrade in short order and was back in business.
