I have 4 Arcade 1up arcade machines. This is my favorite one. It took about 4 hours to put together which is about double the amount of time needed for the other cabinets. One of the side panels on the cabinet I received did not align properly. Luckily the Arcade 1up customer service online portal was easy to use. I just filled out some info and uploaded a few pictures showing the problem and they shipped me replacement parts so I was able to complete construction of the cabinet. Pictures do not show how amazing this looks in person. All the lights and the original artwork look stunning. The controls are good and the inclusion of Discs of Tron in addition to Tron makes the cost worthwhile. Note that the version of Discs of Tron on the cabinet does not include Sark's spoken commentary in the audio. The cabinet is wifi ready and can receive updates. I hope that Arcade 1up has a future update to add the speech audio. So why am I giving this 5 stars? Because the cabinet looks and plays so similar to the original Tron and Discs of Tron is a great included bonus. It is pure eye candy when it is turned on and everyone who sees it comments on how incredible it looks. There is a stool included that is pretty cool also.

It took about 5.5-6 leisurely hours to put together, including the riser. Construction wasn't especially difficult, but there were a *lot* of parts. One of the wooden pieces (fortunately, not a terribly visible one) had a bit of a crack/bend in it - which had to have happened at the factory, because the packaging itself was solid enough that I don't think it could have happened in transit. All of the pieces were exquisitely packed Tetris-style in a box that weighed probably a hundred pounds. It didn't arrive until 3-4 days after the originally-promised delivery date, though. The stickers labeling the various components are very difficult to remove, and honestly they require careful application of goop-b-gone (or something similar, I guess) to remove entirely. Considering that each piece was wrapped in plastic, I don't really know why the stickers weren't just affixed to the plastic instead. All put together, it's a really cool unit. The colors are sharp, the lights are great, and there's even a blacklight pointing downward that gives it a very authentic arcade look. It's really a lot of fun, and (so far) I'm finding the gameplay authentic. Probably my biggest critique has to do with the controls, which are a bit flimsy and don't handle precisely like an original Tron machine's. During Light Cycles, for example, it's hard to get the cycle to move precisely to the right; the inputs to the right are instead often interpreted as alternating right-up-right-up or right-down-right-down movements, resulting in a diagonal staircase pattern that frequently gets you killed. And the spinner doesn't move as quickly as it does in the authentic arcade version; to elaborate, what I mean is that physically it moves fine, but it doesn't spin Tron's arm nearly as quickly as it does in the arcade, if that makes any sense. It can connect to wifi, in order to update itself and also to allow you access to leader boards. Maybe I'm being picky, but I wish it had an ethernet port also. One last gripe: most of the Arcade 1up machines come with up to a dozen games on them. This one only has Tron and Discs of Tron. It's a shame that they didn't at least put Gorf on here as well, because it too uses this same combination of joystick and spinner, and it's even made by the same original manufacturer (Bally Midway). So from a licensing point of view, it probably would have worked out easily to include it.

I'll get the few negatives out of the way first, just to be completely honest and make clear reasons for why possibly a person would resist getting this even if they're interested. 1. $700 price point. Yes, it is high, especially for just two games. But keep in mind a few things - this machine is taller than most, includes an LED lit flight stick, and a blacklight, and comes with the stool (and the A1up Stools usually go for around $75 by themselves), so there is added value there. 2. The build takes awhile. I don't even actually know why, but most people that I have heard from took between 5.5 and 8 hours to put this together, myself included (around 6 hours for me in all). Lots of little parts, sure, and just being careful, yes. But once you're done, you're done. 3. Best Buy doesn't offer Geek Squad protection on this, just the standard A1up warranty. Those things said, this is a FANTASTIC arcade machine. It looks amazing (much better in real life than in most pictures, with the special lighting) from every angle, and the two games on it are some of the most beloved arcade games of all time for good reason. Especially with the Flight stick and spinner, playing Tron is a wonderful experience. I am very happy with mine, and so far have had no issues or complaints a few weeks and about 100 games played in. I chose to customize my front kickplate with some art I got from a place called Escape Pod Online for $40, as it was a little odd that they left that part just plain black (no coin door sticker, no nothing). I have a mini-arcade with iiRcade Dragon's Lair, A1up Star Wars, and a multicade, and Tron is definitely the most eye-catching attraction (and the others look really great, so it's high praise). If you really loved playing the arcade game as a kid, and want a great looking and fun machine, this is an absolute winner. If you are really bad at building things, either plan to spend 7 hours or get a friend to help. If the price is steep, do the 0% financing trick. :)

An amazing 3/4 replica of the original machine. It has a light up marquee, black light to illuminate the machine, the bottom bezel lights up, the joystick lights up, and there’s a panel beneath the screen that flashes multiple colors. It contains both the original Tron game as well as Discs of Tron. The $800 price tag is more then double the normal cost of an Arcade 1up but is a bargain compared to the current cost of the original cabinet which goes for thousands of dollars currently. If you’ve never put together one of these cabinets before they can be quite difficult. I recommend at least two people for the job. The wiring can be a little tricky as well but just pay attention to the color coded tags to assist. It is also a little taller then the normal arcade 1up cabinets. All in all it is a really cool machine for anyone that grew up with the original and is recommended.

As a kid the original Tron movie and arcade game were very important to me. I always wanted to have the real arcade machine and this is the best option for me. I feel like Arcade1up really brought the feel of the the original and I have been truly happy with the purchase.

This is as close to the actual arcade game as you can get. I own two other 1up games and this one is put tougher very well. The lights on the top and bottom puts this machine over the top. I’m very happy with my purchase.

A gorgeous piece that makes me very happy. The games are hard, but that’s part of the fun. Assembly is a bit difficult, but the visuals, blacklight, and sound are wonderful. Absolutely recommended!

This is amazing! Takes me back to my childhood and I’m having a great time! It was interesting to put together; just took it one page at a time. No worries!

I HIGHLY recommend this Arcade1Up Tron cab to anyone wishing to not only own one of the most iconic movie/games ever made but also to those Tron fans who just want to relive those days spent at the arcade playing the original Tron. I love this thing! It's just as good as the original without the headache of maintaining the real cab with all those crazy wires, chips and the CRT screen. You not only get to play the original Tron but also Discs Of Tron! Its like having two arcade games in one cab! And if you are tall like me you wont be disappointed in the cab height. I am 6'4" and I don't have to slouch to play it. You will also immerse yourself into "the grid" easily with the glowing side graphics and adjustable panel light. Arcade1Up hit it out of the park with this one!

I'll admit I'm a bit biased having dreamt of having a Tron Arcade game in my home for 40 years, but I am on Cloud 9 having that dream come true! Assembly was time consuming, but not difficult and extremely rewarding. The game itself was freezing intermittently, but A1Up's customer service responded quickly and sent a replacement PCB. All in all, I am extremely pleased and the only recommendation I can make is that it would have been nice if they had created a multiplayer mode for Discs of Tron--I know it is emulating the original code, but it was a game MADE for multiplayer and its a bit of a shame that its never been done.
Awesome Tron arcade game. Follow all instructions ! Theres no short cut. Have some one help unwrap and lay out your screws . This will save time!

This one was one of the harder cabinets to build. Once built it was fun. The wiring was a guessing game of which wire went where for the lights and sounds effects. Be careful with the wooden pegs-I broke two. Luckily I had two spares from the spare parts bag.

It's just like I remember as a kid. The controls, sounds, and changeable accent lighting are so authentic. My kids and I love the matching Tron stool. And the Disc's of Tron full game is a nice bonus.

Excellent cabinet. Hearing and playing the Tron cabinet brings back the golden era of arcades. The cabinet itself if beautiful and is very close to the original. It is missing the artwork on the S panel (above the display) and the light in front of the display is not a black light, but rather a light controlled by a button which allows you to change the colors. The S Panel does have a black light strip on it, and the cab is deep enough to give you the feeling of being in the game like the original. Definite buy for any Tron fan.

Well now at least I dont have to dump quarters non stop to know I still am horrible at this game -- excellent for use in my home arcade, but this one included the stool and it taller than the standard 1up machines.

I spent a lot of time standing in front of one of these in the arcade back when they came out. And I haven't seen one since I enlisted in '85 so I had to get this just as a sop to my memories of happy times during childhood. This isn't my first Arcade 1up cabinet, but it's by far the most expensive. I don't see the value here OTHER than for that nostalgia factor. There isn't anything here that warrants the price otherwise compared to some of the other games. That being said, if you can get past the price point and want it, it definitely does bring back those days. Assembly is pretty standard, although in this set the smallest piece, that is a small bit of wood material about 6 inches long that goes angled on the top above the screen to support the top cover, was much flimsier in here than in my last one. It split with the tiniest bit of snugging the screw down. It was still usable, and I was very careful with the second one, but keep that in mind. Beyond that, I put it together myself and didn't have any issues with the build I do have a bit of dissapointment with the fitting of the graphic panel just under the joystick - it's not straight and so didn't line up well with the piece underneath it. I may have to pop the back and put some gorilla tape or something on it to keep it lined up better. The other disappointment is with the joystick. Not anywhere near as good as the original. So light cycles, for example, it gets a lot of inputs that you aren't intending. And the ability to do those tiny little smallest jinks while driving the light cycle are nothing like what you could do with the original. Sounds are spot on though, and the music is as well. So it's good for a stroll down memory lane even if it's not as good to play as it was. But for the price I expected better.
