The world needed a hero, we got a hedgehog. Powered with incredible speed, Sonic The Hedgehog (voiced by Ben Schwartz), aka The Blue Blur, embraces his new home on Earth. That is, until he accidentally knocks out the power grid and sparks the attention of super-uncool evil genius Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey). Now it's super-villain vs. super-sonic in an all-out race across the globe to stop Robotnik from using Sonic's unique power for world domination. Sonic teams up with The Donut Lord, aka Sheriff Tom Wachowski (James Marsden), to save the planet in this live-action adventure comedy that's fun for the whole family.

This is hands down one of if not the best movie I have ever seen, and I have seen The movie has an amazing cast that bring every each character to life and give them all such amazing personality. Going into this movie I expected this to be like every other video game movie: bad. But i was delightfully surprised to come to the realization within the first 5 minutes; this movie is amazing. This movie will go down as a classic in history and I don't expect anything to top this for a very long time. I absolutely recommend to every single person on this planet, you wont regret watching this.
It was a fun movie to watch with the kids. I really like this steelbook. The artwork on the inside and outside is great. It also came with a comic which was nice. For $15, it was a great deal for being 4K plus a Steelbook.
I myself have been a fan of the series since 2003, around when Heroes released. Something with the gameplay, characters, music, and environment catches on to me. And now nearly 17 years later, I'm still a huge Sonic fan, and I'll say the film is a huge love letter to the series, as well as being a solid film for people young and old overall. 8/10
Hopefully a sequel comes out of this, but until then, support this film if you like, especially with next year being the 30th Anniversary of Sonic The Hedgehog.
This movie is so good, the graphics are great and the story is amazing. I’ve been waiting for a Sonic movie for as long as the game has been out.A must have for all families and fans. I can’t wait until the sequel is done. So amazing.
Sonic is a movie that surprisingly was better than many expected. Gamers are all too familiar with bad game to film adaptions. There have been few to shake the stigma. Warcraft was fun but could have stood to be longer and take it's time. Tomb Raider was a reboot modeled after the 2013 reboot of the games, and despite Alicia Vikander giving it her all; it didn't fare well at the box office.
Detective Pikachu released to general acclaim and was a fun romp and did well enough a sequel is in development.
Sonic seemed to have the odds stacked against it. An initial bad trailer led to a delay to a "fix" the character model. The effort paid off and we ended up with a film that treated the fans with respect and just provided a fun time. It's of course going to appeal to kids but if your a SEGA kid or grew up with the games? There's a lot to enjoy here too. Easter Eggs are sprinkled liberally throughout the film. And Jim Carey is just haming it up and is a surprisingly good fit for Robuttnik.
This steelbook is fantastic and comes with a little mini comic which is a fun little addition.
