The HS105 turns any of your standard devices into a "Smart" device. Once you start using this, you will quickly see the benefits. This is especially apparent if you own an Amazon Alexa device (echo/dot).
The build quality is very good. It is sturdy and certainly doesn't feel flimsy or cheap. The design of this product is where it really shines. One of the biggest complaints of most Smart Plugs is there bulky size which in turn means that they often cover/obstruct more than one power outlet. I was pleased to find that TP-Link has overcome this issue with this newly designed Smart Plug. What's more impressive is how simple the solution was – making a wider Smart Plug, instead of a taller Smart Plug! Good move TP-Link! Since this is considerably smaller, I was worried that the range (distance away from the Wi-Fi router) would be affected. I had no issues, and I was able to plug this device a reasonable distance away from my Wi-Fi router.
The scheduling aspect is great! There are a lot of variables you can set. Time (hours and minutes, am/pm), switch action (on or off), and repeat (days of week - you can select one individual day, every day, or a combination of days). A programmed event requires two "events" in the app, a switch action "on" and a switch action "off". This is useful if you have a routine with turning on/off a device in your home. Some uses I have for this HS105 are for lamps, entertainment units, irons, fans or just about anything you want to conveniently turn on/off or set timers for.
Overall this is a fantastic Smart Plug that works flawlessly.

We bought this to control Christmas tree and wreath lights. Works great. My only issue with it is that there’s no Apple HomeKit support. It does however have a widget that can be added so not really a huge issue.

This item works fantastic I use it for light my fan and connecting to my tools and coffee machine can’t go wrong with this
Excellent item, I purchased 4 bubs and 2KASA smart plugs to control my two bedroom lamps. This is awsome and so inviting when we enter the room. Google lights on and wam. You must down load KASA application and link to Google assist, very easy, too 15 min for whole process. Once the KASA application verifies you account then you can start the programming process. It will search for your plugs and ask you to confirm that the plug is blinking blue and pink(yes) move to next step. Select which icon you want to store as your visual icon and process with be complete but if you have Google Assistant you need to like the accpunts together to work in Google. Your lights are now ready. Yessssssss. Loving it. Or whole is almost a smart home. A few more items and our home will be smarter than us. Enjoy.
I hit the ball out of the park on this purchase. I had been referred to more expensive outlets that cost as much as the time more. I have also purchased one that was made by a good company, a company that makes a great camera and smart bulbs but their's didn't work.
This unit does everything it promises. Buy it and save money versus more expensive models. I'm using mine with a window air conditioner. It works instantly upon command using Google Home.
There is one thing that I have learned that is a total sidebar from the unit itself. That is that you cannot create a routine or use voice commands to operate an outlet. My Google Assistant cites "safety" as the reason. You learn something every day.
In summary, buy it, buy it, buy it because it does everything that they say about it. I'm going to buy many more.

TP-Link Kasa HS105: A Great Smart PlugThe TP-Link Kasa HS105 is a great smart plug for its small profile and great feature set. If you're looking for a little more versatility, TP-Link also makes a plug with two outlets (the Kasa HS107 ), which means you can control up to four devices

TP-Link Kasa Smart Wi-Fi Plug MiniThe TP-Link Kasa Smart Wi-Fi Plug Mini makes it easy to control any device in your home from your phone, and features support for a number of voice assistants, including Microsoft's Cortana.
A:AnswerI'm assuming your buying 2 amazon echo dot's (alexa is the voice control/automation interface in the echo dot's)
Basically you will plug the Echo Dot's into a standard outlet anywhere you wish so as long as the area has wifi. You will want the Echo Dots powered on at all times so they can respond to your voice commands.
The Kasa plugs can be used anywhere in your home you have wifi. The Kasa plugs get their commands via wifi and do not have to be in the same room as the Echo Dot's.
Once the Echo Dot's are setup and running properly using the Alexa app on you phone or tablet, you can proceed to setup the Kasa smart plugs. You will need to install the Kasa app on your phone or tablet and follow installation steps to connect the wifi plugs to your home wifi and then link them to the Amazon Echo dot/Alexa automation system.
It's not too difficult at all. Good Luck.
