This film contains a relatively unknown cast that is capable of carrying a better than average script. Traditional vampire history, interwoven into the presidency of Abraham Lincolns abolition of slavery. In what could be a very powerful story for some will be at least intense for the average viewer of this film. 3D effects are not bad for its time as viewed on my , Samsung D series. Looking forward to best buy offering a tremendous deal on a screen 75"+ to enjoy more 3D film.

While the movie didn't completely follow the book, it was fun to watch! Playing it as a serious movie instead of a comedy worked. Vampire slaying could have been part of the Civil War. I'll never be able to watch the other Lincoln movie without expecting Daniel Day Lewis to whip out an axe and chop someone's head off!

This was perhaps one of the oddest movies I have seen. The writers did well to take a fictional subject and tie it in to true history. It almost had you believing that things did happen this way when indeed it did not.

I was pleasantly surprised when i watched this movie. The title makes you think of a corny movie that isn't worth a couple of hours of your life. But, it was actually a good movie, with a good plot. I liked it.

You cant go wrong when you mix the president who abolished slavery with extinguishing blood suckers. This a good pick for anyone interested in history or anyone who like's scary flicks. Maybe even both.

I actually thought this was a very good Vampire movie about Abraham Lincoln and his Vampirer's.

It's a good movie, with good special and good story line. Wish a sequel would come out.

A creative, if bizarre, exercise in secret history, yet not offensive to the actual peoples and events of the period, naysayers' claims to the contrary, as other films take odder liberties with history (did anyone think X-Men: First Class trivialized the Cuban Missile Crisis, by making it an evil mutant plot, for example?), but are harmless. Those concerned with such things have a responsibility to read a history book, and learn how things really happened. Yes, the movie, written by the same author who wrote the book, took more liberties with history than the book did (2 premature historical deaths--no spoilers), but then, this is Benjamin Walker's portrayal of Young Mister Lincoln, not Henry Fonda's. Even with the weird circumstances and motives for Lincoln's actions, as well as the horror and action star elements, it still manages to depict Abe as a noble, honorable icon, not a joke.

Vampire Hunter is a super idea of a movie and has a great deal of vampire slayings not to mention a story line of events which were incorporated into the scenes.

My review is that I think this was an interesting view of history

This was a great movie not your average vampire movie watch it and see history books were wrong. I first watched on dvd but Blu-ray really brought it to life.

Abraham Lincoln was a great president and in this movie, he's kickass as well! This is a semi-historic action romp that's just fun!

I was expecting a funny film but got a surprise. Movie was better than expected. Another vampire movie to adf to your collection.

If you have yet to see this movie then you have not lived. I had to buy it again since mine went missing. Great story and graphics.

An interesting take on Lincoln's story but entertaining. Not scary of cousre but quite engaging. Good watch

I have never read a book, so I bought this movie not expecting too much and was pleasantly surprised. Movie isn't great and definitely you won't be talking about if for years to come, but for what it's trying to achieve it nails. Lincoln as vampire hunter trained in handling axe to do battle with night creatures, might just be the coolest idea since vampires went all vegan on us;-) Movie has some amazing set pieces and the battle in the horde of running horses will remain in my memory for a long time. You may wonder why I gave it 4 stars, but again, if you do like vampires and a bit on the graphic side sort of movies, you won't be disappointed. You might never watch this again, but you could do a lot worse when it comes to vampire movies...
