What is the Anker alternator charger? Why do I need it?
Answered by Anker TeamThank you for your interest in our product. The Anker Alternator Charger is an accessory designed to let you charge your power station from your vehicle while driving. It connects your car’s starter battery/alternator to the power station, making it a convenient charging option for road trips, camping, RV use, or backup power while on the move. 1. How it works with the S2000 When connected to the XT60 port on the S2000, the Alternator Charger can charge the power station using power from the vehicle. Please note: The S2000 XT60 input port supports up to 400W max. Even though the Alternator Charger itself can provide up to 800W, when used with the S2000, the actual charging input is limited to 400W because of the port limitation The S2000 does not support reverse charging back to the vehicle in this setup. If you wish to use the reverse charging function, you might consider our C2000Gen2 or F3000. Important connection rule: Please do not use a Y-cable to connect both the Alternator Charger and a solar panel into the same XT60 port at the same time. Since the two power sources have different output characteristics, doing so may interfere with the power station’s MPPT charging algorithm and cause abnormal charging behavior. 2.
