Awesome laptop. Incredibly powerful, but well cooled (50c normally, 75c under load.) Dual boots fedora 36 unmodified. Beautiful screen. And who doesn't love the anime matrix? The photo shows pixel perfect control even from linux. The only minor issue is the mt7922 wifi card, which is intermittant under linux. There are patches available, but for $25, I simply swapped in the superior Intel ax210. BTW, the AMD 6900H cpu does not have the Pluton "feature". There are conflicting reports if Pluton works with linux, but his laptop definitely does not have that issue. Highly recommended if you can find one. It's showing "sold out" now, which does not surprise me.

Love the anime matrix. So much power in such a small size. Display is clear and vivid. Battery life could be better. Get about 6 hours on avg.

I come from an older model ASUS Strix Scar. Im no computer expert by any means. I’m sure 99% of y’all are more knowledgeable than I am, but I did have some buddies take a look and they highly recommended this laptop. This is also my first go with AMD. All I can say is that this laptop is an absolute beast. Extremely powerful, no issues at all. Love the features. Love the picture. I currently use for work, gaming, and school. I’m quite positive this laptop will last me a long time. I don’t have enough positive words to use anout this laptop. Order now! By the way, the app shows sold out, but if you log in from desktop you can order, and for me it was only about a weeks wait. Keep checking back until available.

I owned this for about 2 months. The screen is bright and clear. Its runs very fast for daily productivity. The animatrix is cool, but seems to stutter from time to time. I only play CIV 6 so far and it runs fantastic. The down side is the system does run hot which is why i set the perfromance setting to silent and standard for gaming. Even with that, it has plenty of speed. I recommend it if you are looking for a light powerful gaming system.

Fantastic! Some issues at first, but Best Buy and Asus worked to get a malfunctioning part replaced. Best 14” laptop in the market!

This thing is a beast in a perfect size. It runs games really well and even when I'm pushing it to the limits the fans are still quieter than any other laptop I've owned before. The build quality is great and I don't feel any flex. The speakers are good IMO. It can get warm to the touch when under heavy load but I have yet to own a laptop that doesn't.

Great machine until the hard drive died after 3 months. Now Best Buy has had it in for repair for 2 weeks essentially leaving me high and dry until it’s back. I have numerous MacBooks, Pros and Airs and I’ve never had a hard drive fail in 3 months.

I love everything about it. Fast data transfers, runs games at 144hz in 1440p, great for application development, great screen, amazing keyboard. I have nothing bad to say. I use it for work and play everyday. 10/10 would buy again.

Great buy. It is so worth it. It does run hot though.

I bought the version with only 16gigs and the lesser video card but choose this version over it. I love it and would tell anyone to buy this laptop if they can get one.

Do not buy this laptop. I think the reviews below are fake af. It takes up so much RAM just to run the simplest tasks. It runs very hot. It's not worth it. I should have spent my money elsewhere. Please y'all don't make the same mistake.

So far so good. This is my first laptop purchase for myself. I am also an AMD fan, and this one the only one that had all AMD and 32gb of ra. Also, I am a fan of Micron and the sdd just happened to be micron as well

I am coming from the 2020 G14 and I loved (still do and currently writing this review on it) that one so much that I figured I'd upgrade and go for the AMD Advantage version. I don't game, but rather develop in Unity3D/Unreal, as well as use Photoshop and DaVinci Resolve every day. I was sad when I decided to return it because it's such a beautiful system. It stands out but not in a gamer way; it's just different than everything that's out there, and still looks very professional. The good: Beautiful screen, lightweight, top-notch build quality (seriously good, liked MBP good), great keyboard, great trackpad, Windows Hello, great performance, all-white design, and while gimmicky, the LEDs on the lid are fun. The bad: The Bluetooth constantly cut out, leaving my mouse hanging (my 2020 still does not do this). I have multiple mice, both of which I re-checked on my 2020 to make sure I wasn't going crazy and they still work fine on that system. I tried reinstalling the drivers a few times, as well as a complete factory reset to no avail. My USB keyboard would stop working occasionally as well, which was odd. This thing does run hot so get ready for a lap warmer (would be great while watching Christmas movies in the winter, as long as you live in a cold climate lol). Windows 11 is still very buggy, so maybe that's what was causing the issues, but I did not want to install Windows 10 to check. I installed all Windows 11 updates as well, just to make sure I wasn't missing anything, but that didn't solve my issues. I was also expecting to have shorter project loading times as well as shorter compilations, but my 2020 is still faster, or at least on par, and I'm not sure why other than the lack of CUDA. But, compilation is generally a CPU task and this has a 6900HS vs my 2020's 4900HS as well as a PCIE 4 SSD with much faster DDR5 RAM, so you'd think it would be quicker. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Overall, this 2022 G14 did have performance gains over my 2020 with a 2060 max q, but not $2500 worth, and you cannot expand the dual-channel memory any more than what it comes with. I need something a little more future-proof as my projects can get quite large as well as running several memory-hog apps simultaneously. I bet it works just fine when gaming though (did not test), but definitely use a wired mouse as I would not rely on the Bluetooth connection.

Everything I've read about it is fantastic! My first device seemed to have a fault, but I was speedily helped and will be receiving a replacement. I was offered a refund or replacement, but why would I want a refund for the best gaming laptop of 2022?

This laptop was advertised as having 32GB RAM. It only has 16 GB RAM. We could not use it for development purposes. The RAM was soldered on the motherboard and couldn't be changed or upgraded. Why advertise 32 GB if it only has 16GB??

It’s the best thing I’ve purchased because it’s doing everything I wanted to do I can’t believe it and it’s a little more extra than what I anticipated so I’m really happy and loving it

My review is to disagree with Gary's review of the $500 difference upgrade from a 16GB to 32GB. Acquiring twice the RAM will help long term from internal straining, a $500 difference is the commitment to an investment. I had the 16GB and I upgraded right when they had the 32GB available.
