Customer Ratings & Reviews

I run two Canon EL5 flashes, and when paired with the R6 Mark II, nothing else even makes sense. As a cinematographer who also pushes the boundaries of creative photography, light isn’t just a tool, it’s the raw material I sculpt with. I travel heavy when I need to, softboxes, dream dishes, modifiers, but the constants are my two EL5s. Whether I’m shooting fashion, weddings, sports, or celebrities, they’re always locked in. Mounted to a 34" Dream Dish and Softbox through Bower adapters, the light they throw is clean, controllable, and dramatic enough to elevate anything I’m shooting. I trigger both through the ST-E10 transmitter, another piece of gear I don’t leave the house without. No matter the time of day or quality of light, I dial them in, set the scene, and the results are pure magic. Five stars, no hesitation. The Canon EL5 Speedlights aren’t just flashes, they’re the foundation of my portable studio.

More than happy with this flash on my R6 mII. Power and features are top-notch and battery life is great. The new multifunction pin style works great, although it currently limits compatibility with older cameras and flash accessories.

I’ve been loving this speedlight flash. It pairs really well with my camera and was very easy to set up and start using right away. The compatibility has been seamless, which made the learning process feel fun instead of intimidating. It’s been a great addition to my photography setup and a perfect starting point for experimenting with flash photography. I’ve enjoyed learning how lighting can completely change a photo, and this flash has made that process really approachable. Overall, this has been a great start for my photography journey and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking to add a speedlight to their kit, especially beginners.

This flash is amazing, it works great with my camera and always comes through with accurate exposure and WB. Setup is fast and easy too

Love this Canon Speedlite much better than my other speedlite which had a massive problem with batteries. Wish it had come with the battery charger, however.

Is amazing ane great everything like weeding and close spaces

This product is useless for anyone with an R5 or R5C. Do not waste your money

The EL-5 delivers outstanding performance and consistency shot after shot. Recycle time is super quick, and the power output is impressive even in larger spaces. The build quality feels premium, and it integrates flawlessly with Canon’s latest mirrorless bodies. Perfect for events, portraits, or creative lighting setups, this flash makes every photo look professionally lit.

The Speedlite EL-5 is a fantastic flash with amazing power, though it feels a bit heavy on long shoots. I am so glad it uses the new EL-6 battery, and a huge shoutout to Dave at the Tampa store for going above and beyond to help me out!

I purchased a new camera and flash. I am going through the learning process for both of them. Currently having trouble with the camera and flash communicating automatically. I am withholding an opinion until I can accomplish understanding the camera and flash much better.

The Canon Speedlite EL-5 is a powerful and reliable flash for modern Canon mirrorless cameras. It delivers fast recycling, strong output, and consistent lighting, making it perfect for portraits, events, and indoor shoots. The menus are intuitive and the rechargeable battery lasts long. It’s slightly bulky and only works with newer Canon bodies, but the performance, reliability, and ease of use make it a great investment for serious photographers.

I love using the speedlite. It's a great accessory to have, especially in low-light settings.

Loved this so far my girlfriend has used it for shooting indoor weddings and events and the flash is amazing and definitely does its job!

Great flash for the price, works great and battery holds up very well.

Powerful and simple to use. A little pricey for a flash module in my opinion but the performance is there.

Great camera flash. Not a 5 star due to no charger to charge battery.

Good for professional photography but not the day to day shots. I bought it for my mini canon power shot and didn’t check the size when purchased and noticed how huge it is!

Flash is good for my camera. Gives enough brightness.

Excellent piece of equipment for photographers to get premium lighting in not-so-ideal situations! Easy to set up, easy to use! Love it!

This flash is perfect! I needed it for an event and ordered it and it was to my house within a day! Super easy to use and just clips right on the top of my camera! Highly recommend
