This is one of those games that caught me off-guard. I never thought I'd like it as much as I do. Infinite replay value, lots of personality, cool music, great graphics, and pinpoint controls. Its a roguelike action-platformer with cool weapons to collect and a slightly different experience on every playthrough. There are lots of paths to explore, enemies to fight, and cool things to find throughout the castle. It's a very popular game for a reason. Give it a try if this sounds like it's for you.

They game is just good, not to much complication of controls, pretty straight forward gameplay ... alot of replay value, or rather the roque lite aspect will have you replaying LOL

This is a amazing game! The visuals are stunning, The gameplay is engrossing. The story is more of a platform for interesting weapon choices, challenges, and level ups - this is to say, the story is not that compelling. However, it is charming and has some quirky gallows humor. I have played this game for tens of hours and have never felt bored or tired of it. It is simple to learn and exciting/challenging to master. I regularly play on my Switch Lite. It is a great game to pick up for a few moments, have some fun, and then put back down.

I’m not much into “indie” type games but this one did catch my interest and I am surprised at how much I like the game. The controls are fun and I like that even after you die you don’t lose progress. A great game for anyone looking for something new to play!

Dead Cells is a wonderful action game! It's definitely a challenge, and it's very satisfying to play though because of it! It's definitely worth the time to pick up and play!

This is the indie game of the year for a realm and could not be a better fit. Like hallow knight this is a great Metroid style game that challenges you at every corner.

This game is awesome! Looks great on the Switch and that means you can take it anywhere. Highly recommended!

Is super fun and quick action game. Metroidvania type game that is addicting! Would highly recommend.

I dig the art style and fun gameplay. Apart from setting you back when you die. Its still different everytime you start though.

Be prepared for a lot of deaths. But, every death has the opportunity to get you that much farther in-game. The graphics are colorful and fit well with the type of game. This is definitely not for everyone but, I found it satisfying and, thoroughly enjoyed the game.

Bought this on a whim, and I love it. Wasn't familiar with the gaming style, permadeath and all, but I've really enjoyed this. And even after finally completing a run, I still want to try again with different weapons and paths.

If you didn't get the original release of this game pick up the game of year edition with all the DLC included on cart! Dead Cells was originally a bit of a sleeper hit. Amazing but tough game play. Not for the faint of heart.

You’re into roguelikes and Castlevania-esque games? Look no further. Enjoy dying over and over and over, while the layout changes each time. The latest patch (1.8.0) made the recent DLC even better.

real hard game but its very awesome it gets better every time i play it. Cant say nothing bad about the game i was very satisfy just fyi you will die a lot in this game

Great 2d platformer, lots of secrets and good endgame. But after you beat one time it become insanely hard. Love the key ring that was in the box with the game.

Well this game is great. Fit into my Switch PERFECTLY. It was the exact size it needed to be. Tastes awful though. That part was NOT great. But all these Nintendo games taste awful for some reason. Come on guys... this thing was almost perfect. It fit in the slot. 1 point for that. It tastes NASTY. -1 point for that. So let me do some quick math here... 5 out of 5 games of the year. Must have. Oh... maybe it is the "Action game of the year". Best Buy... Can you update the review summary for me at the top of this thing? I can't find the strength...

From its graphical style to amazing gameplay, it’s worth checking out for yourself. If you like metriodvania style games then this will fill that satisfaction.

Only learned about this game this year. It was out since last year and gamers been talking about. OMG it is truly the action game of the year.

Great 2D action game with plenty of replay-ability! I can see why people call this “the dark souls of 2D platformers”. Definitely takes some cues from the series but it’s fresh enough to stand out! I’d forsure recommend this game if you’re into side scroller action games

Do not buy this if you own the regular version because the Cartridge of the game is the exact same, and all the DLC is free from the E-Shop.
