    Sounds great

    I currently have a Dolby Atmos 5.1.4 setup using a Denon AVR X4300 receiver. Previous to these I was using the procinema 600 speakers in the front and I thought they sounded good. I moved the 600s to be front height speakers and now these 800s are the main front. What a difference these speakers make. They difference was almost night and day. The mids and highs sounded more vibrant. I'm thinking the smaller 600s were not matching the frequency cut over of the sub as I wasnt using the sub the came with the 600s. I would definitely recommend these for those of you who need smaller speakers.

    Great sound from a great package

    I was looking for a small form factor that would not break the bank, but would also produce a great sound. I really feel these speakers match the Bose Acoustimass series in size and function. Especially since the setup versatile and the living room looks great. I have created a 7.2 system with these speakers as my fronts and rears. They sound great and pack a huge punch. Really great purchase and I have no regrets. Also keep in mind that they do take about 30 hours of listening time to fully break in. I would also highly recommend the speaker mounts that can be bought for them also made by Definitive, especially if they will be installed on a wall.

    Performance is everything

    Def tech 800 speakers sound outstanding for its size. They are small, yet detailed and powerful. I use them for surround height channels. I've paired up with 5.1 Canton speakers. These speakers pack quite the weight at 4 pounds each, which is what you expect to spend on great quality. Capable producing relatively high sensitivity of 89 decibels and delivering up to 150 watts per channel I have the perfect set of entry-level home theater speakers. Performance is everything! Buy these and you're not going to regret it.

    Nice!

    Great speakers for the money with the right receiver and sub. I upgraded my front speakers to the 800's and put the two front 600's in my bedroom and running a Zone2 set up. Nice quality and sound with a 5 year warranty! I'm pushing my surround sound with a Pioneer Elite VSX-90 receiver thru a 4k tv and it all looks and sounds great. Whoever gives the Definitive Technology bookshelf speakers a bad review has no idea what they're doing. (See pics)

  • Can I hook these speakers up to a regular receiver? It seems that these speakers are marketed mostly for surround sound with TVs and computers, but I am looking to use them just to listen to music and the radio. They would be my only speakers.

    Yes. I have mine hooked to my Dennon receiver and it is great for music.

  • Anyone have suggestions on speaker stands. Theirs don't seem to be tall enough. So looking for recommendations. Thx

    I'm using the PERLESMITH Adjustable Height Speaker Stands (Model: PSSS1). They are inexpensive at less than $35 for a pair on Amazom. They are great. I just took off the speaker's bottom plastic stand and used the same screw to mount them on the Perlesmith stands.

  • Can you use these Pro 800s as front or rear height speakers?

    Yes. Great rear speakers. I think they would lake the quality of a larger front speaker, but if it’s a small room they would work.

  • Will these speakers work with a Yamaha 725 watt that delivers 145 watts per channel? Will they be under/over powered or anything?

  • I currently have a Definitive Technology - W Studio Micro 3.1-Channel Soundbar with 8" Wireless Subwoofer. Will these work with that unit to build out a surround system?

    These speakers require an amplifier to power them so they are not directly compatible with soundbars.
