I bought this with the intention of using it in my video/photo editing workflow with the addition of gaming using the 3050ti and a 3070 via an eGPU enclosure. This is coming from my previous daily driver which was a Zephyrus G15 with the Ryzen 5900HS and the RTX 3070. So far, the device has been wonderful to use on a daily basis for all of my needs. The screen is more than bright enough to use in less than optimal lighting conditions; the 16:10 screen has great contrast and black levels with no uneven backlighting on my unit. The keyboard is crisp and firm with good travel and spacing throughout. The build quality is superb and I thankfully got a unit without any of the minor (but annoying) issues others have had such as wobbly trackpads or speaker troubles in the 9500 or the current 9510 series. Coming from the G15, I have no worry of the display or the chassis flexing or creaking as this is a relatively more solid feeling device. There is no noise or hum when using headphones plugged into the headphone jack, which I have experienced on other devices in the past. On the software side of things, much could be improved. The device is littered with bloatware from the start that undermines the premium fit and finish of the device. McAfee shouldn't be included on a device that can cost north of $2,000, but at least it subsidizes the cost in exchange for the tiny effort it takes to uninstall it. There are several separate Dell applications for managing various performance modes, speaker/sound equalizing, and display color optimization, among others. This suite seems a little disjointed but is necessary to utilize the device to its full potential. Aside from the Dell add-ins, I have had some issues with the graphics. When watching a YouTube video, if the device is put to sleep and then turned on again, the video can turn black with nothing working until Chrome is restarted. This is likely an iGPU driver issue so I will continue to troubleshoot it. Although Windows 11 is currently in a preview status, it was having issues as well with various graphical glitches and visual noise that seemed to be an issue with Nvidia Optimus overlaying the two gpus rather than utilizing one. That has only happened in this unfinished software, however and the current Windows 10 reinstall I have done has worked fine. As far as someone looking to get into using this laptop with an external graphics enclosure, the CPU is capable of high refresh rate gaming on a 1440p 165hz monitor if using an eGPU; these 11th gen H-series processors have an integrated Thunderbolt controller in the CPU itself which reduces the overhead and performance reductions seen in prior H series chips. The result is a lovely experience with desktop level performance and decently quiet fan noise when used with an eGPU as the 3050ti is not being used which gives the CPU more thermal headroom to hover around 80 degrees Celsius. One thing of note that seems particular to all Windows devices using an external GPU is that there is microstutter if more than one graphics device is enabled at the same time when using an eGPU. When I disable the iGPU and the 3050ti in device manager, the stutter completely disappears. Benchmarks (external display): Unigine Superposition (1080p Extreme) 3050ti -2422pts 3070 - 8040pts For comparison, the G15 scored 6001pts in the same benchmark while in performance mode on the internal display.

Very good laptop had it for over a year, and works very well. I purchase this laptop because I needed a laptop for school. This laptop is able to handle so many pages and files opened. I also enjoy playing some game in the computer as well . Overall if you need a reliable laptop then this one is for you

The overall direction XPS has been going is not good. This device is great, but I want the ability to repair things. Don't waste your money on warranties. This version can be upgraded, but hardly in any capacity that Framework has.

I got and open box XPS 15, its was a very good deal. I really appreciate the way how bestbuy treat with his customers, i first got a Samsung Galaxy book 2 pro. But i was not satisfied with its battery life. Though i ordered it online but when i got to nearby bestbuy store, and they returned it without any trouble and then i got the dell xps 15 which is working very good and outstanding way.

The Dell XPS 9510 is a beautifully crafted machine offering a winning combination of excellent build quality, high performance, and exceptional user experience. There are many configurations for the XPS line. The one I received has the following configuration: 15” non-touchscreen with a 1920x1200 FHD+ with an anti-glare matte screen, 512 gb m.2 NVMe SSD, 16gb of RAM, 11th gen Intel Core i7-11800H, with a dedicated NVDIA GeForce 3050Ti graphics card. The XPS line is renowned for its excellent build quality and Dell continues this tradition on the 9510. It has a CNC machined smooth aluminum body with carbon fiber palm rests. The structural frame is solid with no flexing. Performance on the XPS 9510 is also one of its strong points. In my line of work, I use CAD software to perform modeling and renderings and also dabble in video and photo editing software. Having the dedicated graphics makes the workflow so much smoother and reduces processing time. This is a great laptop for those types of use cases. The user experience is simply steller. The lid can be opened with one hand. The keyboard has the right feedback and travel, allowing long and speedy typing without fatigue. I’m also loving the touchpad. The glass surface precision touchpad is one of the best I have used. For one thing, the touchpad is huge, plenty of area to maneuver around! It is smooth, responsive, and on point. The backlit keyboard has two brightness levels with illumination levels that won’t become a distraction. The connection ports consist of two thunderbolt 4 (USB Type C) with display port and power delivery along the left edge. Along the right edge, there is 1 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C with display port and power delivery, a 3.5 headphone jack, and a slot for a full sized SD card. Dell also provides a USB Type C adapter to USB-A 3.0 and HDMI 2.0 for additional connectivity. The 1920 x 1200 resolution is plenty sharp on a 15.6” screen. It has wide viewing angles without losing any of the display colors and brightness. Speaking of brightness the display can achieve up to 500 nits of brightness. I love the bright display as this allows me to easily view the display outdoors. The matte screen prevents glare and reflection, great to eliminate all that light when sitting next to windows and bright concentrated lighting. The disadvantage though of having the matte screen over a glossy screen is that with the matte screen, the images don’t have the vividness and have less contrast than on a glossy screen. Finally, the bezels on this laptop are super thin, what Dell calls InfinityEdge. I’m usually not impressed with the speakers from laptops. In general, I have to resort to using external speakers for some quality audio. However, the XPS 9510 has some decent quality to them. Dell was able to squeeze in 2.5Wx2 woofers and 1.5Wx2 tweeters for a total of 8 watts of peak power. And it sounds pretty good! There is some depth to the audio and a little bit of punch to the bass. The laptop can get pretty warm when the processor or graphics card is working hard. I guess this is to be expected since the processors would need more power to crunch all that data for renderings and video output. It can get uncomfortably warm when I have it on my lap, and the fans kick in and become kind of loud. However, I found out that Dell does allow the user to modify four thermal profiles (Optimized, Cool, Quiet, and Ultra Performance) on the laptop to manage the amount of heat dissipation and noise from the fans. So, on those occasions when you’re mobile and have the laptop on your lap, then you’ll want to use the ‘Cool’ setting. And for those times when you’re in an environment where you don’t want the fan noise to become a distraction, you can select the ‘Quiet’ setting. How long the laptop battery can run before needing a recharge will be highly dependent on the power settings, display brightness, and how you use the laptop. For me, a typical day would be a nine hour work day running office software, web meetings, web browsing, running rendering and video software with one-quarter to one-half brightness. I was able to get through a full work day without reaching for the charger. The only thing I didn’t like about the laptop is the 720p built-in webcam. It’s good when there is plenty of uniform ambient lighting, but becomes grainy and loses contrast in more challenging lighting conditions. You would think that with so many of us on video conferencing, we should not have to resort to having to purchase a dedicated webcam for a better experience. Maybe in the next iteration, Dell can offer a higher quality built-in webcam. Should you purchase the XPS 9510? Well, it’s got plenty of horsepower for business and creative applications, and I think for the majority of users other than serious gamers, the Dell XPS 9510 is a great choice and you will be pleased with what you get. The XPS is Dell’s premium line and it doesn’t come cheap, but I think it is worth it if you can afford it for the reasons I mentioned at the beginning: excellent build quality, high performance, and exceptional user experience. And that's their textbook winning formula. Dell seems to understand these three pillars in the premium laptop market and I think that’s why the XPS, including the current XPS 9510, will remain popular.

Lightning Fast, Windows 11 Ready, Fun for the Casual Gamer TLDR: - fast benchmark reports desktop speeds - great for occasional gaming (got 150 FPS on Overwatch) - no USB A, Ethernet, or HDMI ports but Dell includes an HDMI/USB A Dongle - fingerprint and Windows Hello ready - super thin, light, and runs quiet - Windows 11 ready FULL REVIEW I've mostly had a bias for 14" laptops for work and study (easy to travel with) but the screens have started to feel a little cramped. The Dell XPS 15 (9510 model) is the perfect laptop where you want style, speed, performance, but with true laptop portability. Out of the box, the Dell XPS 15 is thin at 0.71. That's incredibly thin given the specs include an RTX 3050Ti card. The display is Full HD and Dell has gone for the 16x10 aspect ratio. This is important to know because it feels far more spacious and superior to a "traditional laptop". Dell's edgeless display makes the 15" feel as spacious as a 17" monitor - which is quite a trick. Things to know out of the box. The Dell XPS 15 has no USB A, HDMI, or Ethernet port. You get 3 USB C (2 are Thunderbolt ports), an SD card slot, and an audio port. You will need one USB C port for charging. The USB C charger is 130W, so for now you can't use a GaN charger as they're underpowered. The BIOS actually warns you on startup if the charger is low-powered. As for no USB A or HDMI ports, Dell does include a little dongle. You may have your own thoughts on dongles, but this is a future-ready laptop and like DVD drives, USB A will soon go away. The keyboard is great, it's backlit. There's a fingerprint reader and the camera also supports Windows Hello. This makes logging in a breeze. The touchpad is large and responsive (no flex). If you need to use an external mouse, I would recommend one that supports Bluetooth though, so you don't have to use a dongle. Audio quality is good for a laptop and you can upgrade to Dolby ATMOS. I like the platinum silver outside and inside it has a soft-touch style plastic that is not a fingerprint magnet. The setup was straightforward. Dell has no bloatware, other than McAffee which was easy to remove. There were the usual Dell firmware updates and Microsoft updates, but in under an hour, I was ready to put this thing through its paces and do some benchmarking. The Dell XPS 15 is FAST. Incredibly fast. It made my less than 1 year old 14" Dell seem sluggish by comparison. Benchmarks uploaded show you the Dell XPS and RTX 3050Ti combo is more than ready to be a desktop replacement. This means you can put it through paces for work (crunch spreadsheets), or as a creator (my kid was happy to edit videos with Adobe), and the occasional game - more on that in a second. The 3050Ti graphics card is good for gaming. I got an average 150FPS on Overwatch, which is more than respectable for a laptop that's not technically a gaming laptop. I would stress though, the XPS is not a true gaming laptop, so if you want to (mostly) play games, I would consider one of Dell's true gaming models. The XPS is more the "do serious work and occasionally blow off steam playing a game" type of computer. Which is pretty cool and makes the XPS great value. The big observation for me is how quiet the XPS 15 runs. It's whisper quiet. I haven't noticed the fans even under load. It's quite an achievement. The XPS does get a little warm at the back at the fan/heat extraction point, but nothing to complain about. Finally, I did download and run Microsoft's Windows 11 checker. The Dell XPS is 100% ready for Windows 11. Making it a smart long-term investment. I would recommend the Dell XPS and you won't be disappointed. PS. 16GB is plenty of RAM. I would normally check on how easy it is to upgrade internals (RAM, SSD) but Dell uses star screws, and everything is so nice, neat, clean I didn't want to risk the warranty (or damaging it) by opening it. So I can't give any perspective on upgradeability.

I have several laptops but the one that has always been my favorite is my Dell XPS 13. So when I wanted a new 15” laptop, the new Dell XPS 15 9510 seemed like the perfect upgrade. Out of the box the first thing you notice is how well it is packaged with each component in its own compartment so that nothing can be damaged. The laptop itself is wrapped in plastic to prevent scratching. Mine came with less than 50% power and it took over an hour to reach a full charge. In the box, along with the laptop, you get a 130 W charger and a USB-C to USB-A and HDMI adapter. The laptop is beautiful and quality is apparent, from the aluminum body to the carbon fiber palm rest. The 15.6” FHD+ display has 1900 x 1200 resolution and is completely non-glare. It’s an absolute pleasure to view in any lighting situation with no eye fatigue. It has an edge to edge display with almost no bezel at any side. This allows Dell to provide a 15” laptop with the footprint of a 14”. The sacrifice is that there is no number keypad on the side as you would find on most other 15” laptops, and that’s fine with me. The keyboard is solid, with just the right amount of travel, without any bending. It’s backlight comes on when your fingers approach the keyboard and then turns off automatically when not typing to save battery power. The mousepad is very large measuring approximately 6” (w) x 3.5” (h). It has just the right amount of sensitivity with steady quick movement and firm clicking. Possibly the best mousepad I have ever used. This model cam with the following: Intel i7 11800H 11th Generation 2.3 Ghz 16 gb of ram 512 gb SSD Nvidia Gforce RTX3050 Ti graphics with dedicated 4GB GDDR6 Large speakers located on both sides of the keyboard 720 webcam with dual microphones 2 Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, 1 USB-C 3.2 USB-C port, 1 SD card reader and a headphone jack The webcam and microphones provide excellent picture and is a pleasure to have video meetings or to watch a movie or YouTube video. The speakers provide a rich yet clear sound, and can handle high volume. The camera is capable of Windows Hello identification to turn on your laptop with facial recognition. This works flawlessly and almost instantaneous. There is a fingerprint reader built-in to the power switch which can be used as an alternative to facial recognition. Some people consider this to be more secure, but I have never had an issue with the facial recognition. The XPS15 only weighs 4.5 lbs. and is .7” thick. This has a small enough footprint to fit in some 14” laptop sleeves and cases. After charging and setup, which was extremely fast and easy, the next thing you should do is go to Windows Update in the settings menu and do all of the necessary updates. You will find that there are more updates on the second day, as they had to wait until after you installed the initial updates. Don’t be alarmed if you are unable to add your gmail accounts to the Mail and Calendar app. This is a common issue on the first day. After you do all of your updates on the second day it will work properly. It’s probably too early for me to properly assess the battery life. I did find that on the second and third days the battery life improved. If I had to guess at this point I would say I am getting a good 6 hours on a single charge So why only 4 stars if I love this laptop? The first reason is cosmetic. Despite the top notch materials used, my laptop has a flaw in the lower left hand corner. The carbon fiber was apparently not machined to the proper size and does not completely cover the corner (see attached pictures).Lower right corner is perfect. It’s not a huge gap by any means, but it’s enough to see and every time I pickup the laptop and my had touches the corner I feel the sharp edge of the metal. This should not happen in a premium laptop. The second reason is the lack of touchscreen. I didn’t think I would miss it, but I can’t tell you how many times I have reached to touch the screen only to remember that it isn’t touch. Every other laptop I have, including the XPS 13, has touchscreen. All of which cost less than this model. Also, please note that this is not a 2 in 1 laptop. This doesn’t bother me at all as I feel that 2 in 1 works better with smaller laptops. In summary, I love this laptop and it has quickly become my daily user. It’s overall quality and performance should please almost every user. The issues I mentioned above are minor, but are enough for me to deduct 1 star. I highly recommend the Dell XPS 15 9510.

Has everything I need for a gaming/work laptop on the go.

The Dell XPS 15 9510 is a beautiful laptop. I’m coming from a laptop with a 13” screen so this 15.6” screen seems huge! I’m not here to tell you about the specs, you can read that information yourself. I’m here to provide some average user experience, I’m the average user, not a tech guru. This laptop was really easy to set up. It’s a Windows computer, and my 13” laptop is also Windows, so they almost look like twins next to each other as I have the Bing photos set up the same way. I like the facial recognition log in, it is really easy to set up. I also set up the PIN and fingerprint reader. I almost effortlessly set up my two printers to this device, which isn’t always the case when setting up a new computer. The screen is one of the best features of this laptop. It has an anti-glare finish. It’s a slightly matte finish, and it’s really what I always wanted in a screen because I don’t like glare. I love that the screen practically goes to the edge of the laptop with only ⅛” of case on either side. The colors are vibrant. This is not a touch screen laptop, nor does it convert to tablet. It is a solid laptop that you can still stream everything on, and do some gaming, but I don’t do that, so I can’t comment on it. On this laptop there is a ComfortView feature that is “designed to minimize blue light emitted from the display for better eye comfort.” You can also adjust your Windows system settings to turn on the Night Light settings, which is a warmer light emitting from the display to further minimize blue light. The speakers and audio are amazing, there are speakers on either side of the keyboard and underneath the body. There’s a headset port on the right side, which is awesome because sometimes you just need to be able to use a wired headset. I was able to easily connect my Apple AirPods via Bluetooth. There are USB-C ports on both sides of the laptop (and other ports) so you can plug in the charging cable on either side, which is very handy. With my desk configuration it’s easier to plug it in on the left side instead of having to reach the cable to the right side. It’s just a nice feature. When charging the laptop but not actively using it, it’s nice to know when the laptop is finished charging. There is a thin white light on the front edge, in front of the touchpad that is lit while charging and not fully charged. When the battery is 100%, the light will be off. There’s a small white light on the charging cable that is lit if it’s plugged in to the wall, that doesn’t change until you unplug it. The keyboard and work surface are sleek with a matte black finish. The keyboard and touchpad are nice and quiet. Overall this is a great daily driver laptop that is great for an average user like me!

This Dell XPS 15 laptop is one in the upper tier of options from Dell. The near edge to edge display of the screen with a very rich color saturation and contrast is something that I especially enjoy. The anti reflective HD screen even works well in sunlight with minimal effect from the sun on viewing the screen. It is very fast and snappy in even more demanding use such as photo editing with two of the major software options I use. If you have never had a computer with a SSD you will love its speed. It coupled with the 16MB of ram really makes this laptop scream and very versatile for anything you want to do. The sound is awesome, better than any laptop I have previously owned or used at work. Bluetooth and WiFi are of the latest technology for such. My dislikes are few but I see in a few other reviews I am not alone. You do not have regular USB A ports, not even one. An adapter is provided to attach standard USB and HDMI peripherals to the USB C and Thunderbolt ports, but it seems cheap especially coming from Dell, but it works fine for now anyway. I went also purchased another couple of USB C Male to USB A Female adapters so I could use more than one port at a time because all of my cords and peripherals are USB A attachment. Fortunately the adapters are relatively inexpensive especially compared to buying all new external drives and other peripherals typically used. USB C and Thunderbolt ports look identical and are interchangeable in their connectivity as Thunderbolt actually is a USB C port with higher speed connectivity and data transfer. The USB C / Thunderbolt is a good thing, but I really think at least one USB A port and a HDMI port should have been provided on the PC itself. But this is still an awesome laptop to own. Also the oversized touchpad without additional left and right buttons and its multiple features took a little getting accustomed to as well as a bit of customization in the settings.

Great computer with great performance and design. Keyboard is very comfortable and the larger touchpad is amazing. The webcam is not its best feature.

The Dell XPS 15 9510 is a sleek, beautiful powerhouse ready to take on what you can throw at it. Dell XPS 15 9510 comes in a couple of different variations but the model I reviewed is 15.6” Full High Definition + (FHD+) laptop. It houses an Intel i7 11th gen processor, 16GB of memory, 512 GB Solid State Drive (SSD), and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics card. Dell is a well-known brand in the market and they have been producing quality products for quite sometime now and they have done it again with the Dell XPS 15 laptop. Let’s go over the features, and the good and the bad of this laptop. Features: Right out of the box, this laptop looks beautiful. Its lightweight, weighs about 4.5 pounds, its super thin, measures about .7 inches and has a beautiful aluminum finish. The keyboard and the trackpad are nice black finish with a backlit keyboard and Windows 11 ready. This is a very sexy looking laptop with a quality build that will last. Display – So, on this variation you will get the FULL High Definition or FHD+ (1920 x 1200) resolution in a 15.6” display. The new XPS 15 have an edge to edge display, which is simply amazing. The display also has an antireflective finish which reduces eye strain and provides a beautiful display even when used in direct light. You can see the difference between with and without antireflective finish in my pictures. Processor- This laptop uses intel i7 11th generation 11800H processor. This processor is great for gaming, Multimedia, and best of all it is great for multitasking. Let me say this, this laptop is fast. 16 GB Memory- Even though you can you can go higher in memory, 16GB is plenty for running even for some of the most demanding applications, for creating multimedia and gaming. 16GB makes this laptop versatile for anything you want to take on with this laptop. I had no issues running some of the most demanding games such as GTA, Modern Warfare and even Command and Conquer. The best part about Dell laptops is the upgradeability, if you need more of something just open up the laptop and upgrade it, if you know what you are doing. Graphics Card- The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti is good graphics card for gaming. I was able to pull about 120 to 150 FPS in my gaming experience even though the XPS series are not gaming laptops. 512GB SSD- SSD hard drives are a lot more reliable and much faster than your traditional hard drives. SSD – equipped laptop boot up and run much faster than your traditional HDD computers. This laptop only took less than 10 second to boot up and was ready to go. Ports – This laptop comes with 2 Thunderbolt 4 Ports, USB-C 3.2, SD Card reader, audio jack, and a dongle with an HDMI and USB input. WIFI and Bluetooth – The laptop offers WIFI 6 with Killer WIFI 6 AX1650 and Bluetooth 5.1. Camera – Front facing 720p Camera. Battery Life – This laptop offers pretty decent batter life. On best performance, I was able to get about 6 hours of battery life. The only issue I had with this laptop was the front facing camera. The 720p camera seemed a bit grainy for video calls but overall performed admirably. This is an amazing laptop that is fast, lightweight and beautiful that will get any job done. This laptop is great for school, office and even some gaming and you can rest assured that it will not disappoint. I have been using this laptop now for about 2 days and it has not let me down. I would recommend this laptop.

Just got this a few days ago and so far I really love this laptop. It’s form factor is a bit smaller than some of the other models I looked at. It’s a much better use of the real estate around the nicely backlit keyboard. It is also a bit lighter than a few of its competitive peers at 4.52lbs and only .7 in thick. The display is beautiful at 1920x1200 resolution. As the description says, this laptop has an InfinityEdge FHD+ display. It is a 5% larger 16:10 screen and boasts a 92.9% screen to body ratio. Basically, this translates into the real estate efficiency of the size of the laptop and the screen size. It is powered by a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 3050 Ti graphics with 4GB GDDR6 dedicated video memory. It is truly beautiful ! With 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD, it is packed with all the power you need. I had no issues running all the MS Office suite alongside many, many open browser tabs. While not a gaming laptop, this blows most desktops out of the water and is such a nice and useable size and weight. The touchpad is nicely oversized but what I especially love is the rest of the area below and around the keyboard and touchpad. It’s a textured feel, kind of rubberized. It has actually become my favorite “feel” of any laptop I have ever had. The old IBM/Lenovo ones used to have more “texture” on the area around the touchpad but most other since keep that sleek metal look and feel. From a comfort and hours of useability perspective, I really like the soft, yet textured feel of the area around the keyboard and touchpad. Comfort in the long term use is a huge thing that gets little attention, they did this right. Biometrics has taken a hit on some reviews. I can tell you that the touch id with my fingerprint has been virtually flawless. Maybe others have too much THC burned into their thumbs but mine has worked 99.999% of the time!..lol. I have not tried the eye recognition because I have been so happy with the fingerprint recognition. I am still working with all the features of this laptop but I am in disagreement with reviews that state that this is not an easily traveled laptop. It’s size and weight make it very easy for me to move around with it. In my opinion, Dell has continued to produce a high quality, high value laptop for the use cases it fits. I would recommend this to others, but they need to know it is not a touch or 2in1 laptop.

Take the laptop out of the box and the feel of the build quality immediately stands out. It's compact and thin, but not light. The machined aluminum chassis screams quality. Aesthetically, the first word that comes to mind is "sexy". The thin chassis is partly the result of a lack of an HDMI port or any USB-A ports. It's not the only laptop to lack those ports, however it's the only laptop I've seen that comes with a dongle that offers a USB-A port and HDMI port that attaches to one of the two Thunderbolt 4 ports (100% USB-C compatible) the left side of the chassis. If you need to run both a USB mouse and ethernet adapter, you'll need a more capable dongle, but it's a nice touch that Dell includes one even if it is a bit minimalistic. A USB-C for charging -- you can use the AC adapter to charge your Android phone, and a 3.5mm headset port graces the right side. Dell offers the XPS 9510 with many options at different price points. The configuration of this laptop is as follows: Core i7-11800H, 16GB DDR4-3200MHz, 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD, 1920×1200 (FHD+) non-touch screen, NVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti, and a 6-Cell 86WHr battery. Also available is a 3.5k OLED screen and a 4k screen, both of which are touchscreens. All 3 screens have a 16:10 aspect ratio, and all have the same thin bezel design. Common features of XPS 9510 are a backlit keyboard, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, USB-C 3.2 (Gen 2), SD card reader, 3.5mm audio, Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650 and Bluetooth 5.1. Very impressive, but the thing that jumps out from the spec sheet is the dedicated Geforce RTX 30 series graphics card, which offers Ray Tracing, and more importantly DLSS 2.0. While not a gaming laptop, it will handle games at FHD at high and ultra settings. A couple of things that hold it back a bit as a gaming machine is that all screen options only offer a 60Hz refresh rate, and the restricted total power to the 3050 Ti -- likely to keep the heat down in such a compact chassis and to make the battery last much longer while doing things like content creation, etc. So, while the XPS 9510 should be more than enough for casual gaming, competitive gamers those who are primary looking for a laptop to game on should look at a laptop geared more specifically towards gaming. Where the XPS 9510 really shines is productivity. Start using the backlit keyboard and again build quality and solid feel jumps out. The large trackpad makes using the pointer a breeze and allows for use of gestures. The hardware is more than enough complete productivity tasks quickly and effortlessly, and battery life is more than enough to last all day for most tasks. The 4GB RTX 3080 Ti makes the XPS 9510 more than capable to handle photo/video editing and content creation, though the 512 GB SSD in this model might be a bit limited. Fortunately, you can simply drop in a 2 TB drive to overcome that. While I did notice a slight bleed in the edges on the FHD screen I have, color accuracy is impeccable. Sound quality is another standout feature. With it's up firing speakers featuring dual woofers and dual tweeters, I don't recall ever hearing better sound coming from a laptop. It offers solid bass, which is rather unique coming from a notebook. The only thing I've found that doesn't belong in a premium, portable powerhouse such as the XPS 9510 is the webcam. It's likely due to the ultra-thin screen bezel, but still -- Dell, you should be embarrassed. Aside from that one caveat, I found nothing else to complain about. After 2 solid days of use, I experienced no quality control issues. Ultimately, if you're after a great looking, premium-quality Windows laptop that gets your work done quickly and easily and gives you the ability for some gaming afterwards, I don't think you need to look any further. The XPS 9510 is a high-end desktop replacement, and as such it doesn't come cheap, but with its multiple build options, you should be able to find a combination that fits your budget.

This laptop is my favorite that I've ever used. I've had countless laptops over the years, everything from the old 'desktop equivalents' to 10" ultra compact units. This laptop is the most balanced and useable I've ever come across. I really don't have anything bad to say bout this laptop. That doesn't happen often as there is normally some corner cut or design detail that just isn't a preference choice. The only thing I would warn people of is the lack of port options. There are 3 USBc ports. I'm all for USBc and hope it lives up to it's potential but for the next few years I'm going to be carrying around the dongle (included with this laptop) that converts a USB-c port to HDMI and USBa. I'm still transitioning to the USBc myself so I still have USBa devices. That's really the only thing about this laptop I don't love is only USBc ports might be a little early. Other than that the screen is awesome. It's only FHD but the colors are very vibrant, brightness is great and the refresh is perfectly fine for everything I used. The other thing I love is the 16:10 screen. I hope this catches on as I feel they are much more useable than the 16:9 screens. I was limited to running 2 displays through my usual desktop setup. I'm not sure if that a hardware limit or a setting I haven't found but I haven't spent much time trying to activate the 3rd screen. (I used the included USBa-HDMI adapter and a USBc docking station that has an HDMI port and power pass through. Power pass through worked fine also in this setup but the display would not allow 3 independent screens, 2 had to be duplicated and 1 was extended desktop) The battery will run all day. I ran video for an entire day before the battery got low. It charges quickly and from any of the USBc ports. It was also able to charge from my USBc battery bank (slow charge but enough to hold the battery level while in use). The SSD is lightning quick a good capacity. The 3050ti discrete video is great. It'll take a little checking to make sure the laptop is using the 3050ti and not the Intel integrated graphics but once I adjusted a few settings it switched to the discrete 3050ti when I wanted it to. (By default it used the integrated graphics more than I liked as a battery saving feature. I generally don't use laptops for long periods away from the charger so I prefer performance over battery life). The fan is also not annoyingly loud when pushing the performance full bore. It is noticeable but quieter than I expected when I saw the hardware this laptop has. I ran several newer games and they performed great. Nothing that is cutting edge and overly video intensive but this laptop should be able to run any current game available with respectable FPS. The keyboard and mouse work just how you expect. No bad surprises. I like the soft quiet feel of they keyboard and the mouse is smooth and predictable. The sound is also very good. The laptop does not have a 10-key pad but uses the space for speaker grills down the sides of the keyboard which gives a good full stereo experience. The colors are also very nice. The silver outside is standard but the dark interior is a nice change and seems like it will hold up well. It also comes in a very nice box that was just a nice extra touch. Dell has definitely designed an amazing laptop here. It is well worth the money and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

This is a sleek, solidly built, premium laptop that is the best overall Windows machine that I've ever used. But it could be better, especially for the top-of-the-line cost. The ultimate question is how does this Dell XPS compare to its competitors for the price. The answer: Better than most, especially if you can get it on sale, as I did. I was back in the market for a new Windows laptop for two reasons -- I wanted a screen larger than my 14-inch, 2-in-1 Lenovo Yoga 9 Series, and I had grown tired of the Yoga's inferior keyboard. I also didn't need a touchscreen because I use this device primarily for text, spreadsheets, email and Web browsing. Here's my take on this gorgeous, 15.6-inch Dell XPS. I'll also compare it to my new MacBook Pro M1 Pro that I also use for heavy-duty work tasks. Pros: * The keyboard is outstanding. It's backlit, and has a great feel typing -- a vast improvement over the stiffer, less tactile Yoga. * The screen is bright and anti-glare, making for an exceptional viewing experience in any room. * The bezels are tiny so one gets an optimized, large screen on a relatively light, thin chassis. This is a mostly well designed machine. * The Intel i7 chip is quick, and it easily handles multiple apps being open at once. * The battery life is better than the Lenovo Yoga. Still, it drains too quickly under heavy use, in my view. Cons: * The lid can be challenging to open. There's no built-in notch to easily lift the lid. It can take both hands to open the laptop. That's a disappointing design failure on an otherwise well-conceived laptop. * The camera is of middling quality on a high-priced, top-of-the-line laptop. For this price, one should get a 1080p camera, especially given the importance of video conferencing these days. * While the screen is high quality, it's not as sharp as the new MacBook Pro's mini-LED screen. The text and images are good, but they're not as crisp as the MBP. * The Intel chip also doesn't measure up to the new M1 Pro silicon in the MBP. This chip is plenty quick enough for most tasks. But the M1 is in a different gear. * At full retail price, this laptop is approaching $2,000. That's a hefty cost for some of the shortcomings mentioned above. That said, it's still 20% - 25% less expensive than the new 16-inch MacBook Pro. Overall, this is a solidly built laptop that looks great, has an exceptional keyboard, a bright screen and is relatively light for its size. The chip will handle most tasks easily and quickly. It should be better for the price. But it's a good value compared to the similarly-sized MacBook Pro.
