Our home office was overrun with paper and I was determined to simplify and organize the mess by going to a mostly paperless filing system. I considered several scanners such as Neatdesk, and Cannon. I decided to go with the scansnap and I'm really glad I did. Our house is small and this desktop scanner can sit on the desk in an unobtrusive way. I was able to set this scanner up in minutes and go so addicted to scanning (and then shredding documents) I literally transformed my workspace and eliminated 50% of our paper files in a few hours. I highly recommend this scanner! The slight downside is sometimes the paper would jam - however this happened when I tried to over-stuff the feeder and after 30+ minutes of continual use. My conversion to a paperless system was too much for the motor on my shredder. :(

Bought this for the company that I work for. The employees love the scanner. It's quick and efficient I haven't heard anyone complain. They love being able to scan directly to their computers.

It's portable, you can choose to scan in color or B + W, the scans are high quality - what's not to like?!? Scans are speedier if you plug the scanner in rather than using your computer's USB port. You are given a number of choices for saving your files which is helpful and convenient. My office uses this scanner daily and we are very happy with it - so happy, we bought a second one!

I have been using this scanner for a few years at work. It was for that reason I purchased it for home use for work purposes. It was easy to use due to previous experience. However, it is a simple scanner to set up and use. No problems with set-up, downloading software and no compatibility issues. The quality is very good for my use. The model is older so the price for me does not match. It is easily portable. You can save documents to designated folder on computer. I have no problems scanning up to 8 documents at a time but be careful because sometimes paper may get off track-just make sure you align documents correctly in scanner.

This is my second scan snap scanner. I wore the first one out. Fast with great scan quality in color. Great to travel with. For the price, great value!

I love this little scanner. I did several hours of research before I chose this one. Originally, i wanted to get the Neat scanner. After a bit research, this product better fit my needs. I have a Mac and this product is completely compatible. The scanner It is quiet and super fast. I have eliminated most of the paper in my filing cabinet. The duplex scanning and software made the job efficient. This could not have been accomplished using my flatbed scanner. The software is easy to use and give me several options for storing the documents. I love that I can now search for keywords on the pdf documents. I highly recommend this scanner. And the best part is that it was far cheaper than the NEAT scanner.

I am not too techy, but I easily hooked this up, installed the softward (had to download since my laptop does NOT have a CD drive) and was up and running. Quickly scans both sides into 1 file. I cannot speak to the management of files,as I have not figured that out. But, I can scan and then quickly upload.

This is a very good quality scanner - much better than one would expect from the price! So easy to use - whether plugged into a wall outlet for power or into the computer. Simplex and duplex copying; color or grayscale. I have used this scanner to scan almost every paper document in our house - thirty years worth. Now I can store docs as .pdf and get rid of five two-drawer file cabinets.

I like the scan snap because of size and speed. I work offshore in Gulf of Mexico and it is great because it fits in my bag.

I've had 2 of these installed at the office for over a year now, for our higher-scan-volume staff (30-200 pages daily, we have big scanners for higher volumes#. The scanners are a breeze to set up, quick to scan, take little space, and are the envy of everyone at the office that doesn't have one. These Fujitsu scanners routinely rank excellent in reviews, and the praises are well deserved. We've had no problems scanning documents ranging from store receipts to full page documents, and the software is easy to use - I haven't had any complaints or questions even from our 65 yr old finance person! The automatic document feeder #ADF# works well #for stacking multiple pages and have the scanner pick them up individually), as does dual-sided scanning. Both the ADF and dual-sided scanning are huge time savers! Overall, these little scanners are excellent for the price. I have looked no further since getting the first one. [Comparatively speaking, we use Epson DS-30s for staff that scan lower volumes. Also had Neat scanners, but the Fujitsus are cheaper, much better software that doesn't try to upsell, and much, much faster to scan]

Easy to use scanner. Scans both sides of 2 page document without having to flip it over. Storing documents in cabinet (folders) is a cinch.

Absolutely love this scanner. It works fabulous and makes life on the go so efficient. I also like how it automatically scans both sides automatically with one scan! Highly recommend this!

I needed a small desk-top personal scanner. I did some comparisons and for the price this was the best and turned out to be so. It was easy to set up and get scanning.

I really like this scanner. I have the ScanSnap ix500 for the office but needed something smaller for home. I wanted an ADF feeder for small documents and this works well. Slower, of course, than the ix500 but this is so compact that it is worth the tradeoff. Uses the same ScanSnap software that I already had on the computer. My SP3 doesn't have 2 USB ports to power the scanner so I have to use the included power cord.

Easy set up and easy to use. Would have preferred to be able to save scanned items into Documents instead of Scansnap app. Perhaps there is a way to do that but I didn’t take time to figure it out. Overall am satisfied with this scanner. Very reliable

I wanted a dedicated scanner that could accept a large array of different sizes of paper. This is the best scanner I've ever owned. The UI and settings are not as easy as most but it's not rocket science.

Good product, was not compatible with our program.
