I had high hopes especially getting it from Deal of the Day the Greenworks Axial Blower and reading all the positive reviews on Bestbuy. Unfortunately, mine must've been a lemon or the few that works and then fails. I did check some of the outside reviews and only a few mentioned battery issues, but majority didn't. It was ordered just in time for the fall leaves cleanup to test. No issues reading and understanding the operating manual, charging the lithium battery for the first time and blowing out the garage and driveway for the day. It had decent power with turbo function to get the extra blowout on difficult spots which I liked. Lasted about 30 to 45 minutes not continuous blowing before the battery indicator flashed green and intermittent shut off indicating the battery needs to be recharged. I like the fact of seeing the battery level on the battery so I have an idea how much more I can do before stopping the work. Inserted battery into charger, plugged to wall outlet, this time no lights were flashing green to indicate charging like the first time, pulled out camera to record, then charger/battery started to emit smoke, immediately unplugged charger. The charger was the smoker and no longer works, checked with volt meter and without dismantling the charger, it was assumed the circuits burnt out. The lithium battery was also damaged as the battery indicator no longer lights up showing battery level. It's time to set up a return back to Bestbuy. This was also another issue later and during the pandemic. It took almost two weeks to be returned by UPS return pickup and get a refund, however to my surprise I was charged a re-stocking fee of $15 even marking off return reason of "Defective product" return. Chatted with three separate and talked to two customer service representative over the past two months trying to get someone to finally resolve and refund me the $15 re-stocking fee, which by the way should not as per Bestbuy return policy. Still waiting for refund since October 1st 2020 return date.
