Placed an order for a new HP Shredder, arrived used and previously opened. Upon inspection everything was included inside. There were signs of damage, scratches, dirt, also the unit would not close correctly, as it was previously dropped and one side of the unit was dented and warped. Overall the unit if new, looks impressive. The design is nice, has a drawer that pulls out in the front, there are wheels, and while i was not able to test it, i was impressed with the overall design. I placed a new order for a replacement unit, hoping it was a one time thing. Good price, nice design, solid pick for a home shredder. I would go with this over a generic brand.

Regrettable purchase. Smoked and burnt out the very first time I tried to use. Best Buy was not helpful and refused to issue refund for this defective item.

It was great while it worked, went through paper like a hot knife to butter, I also used it on a couple cards and it was fine, it struggled a bit on some of the thicker cards, had to go reverse and forward a few times on the thicker cards. I left it alone for about two months and when I turned it on, there was a crackle and a little light of electricity and just started smoking, that was the end of that…I don’t know if I can fully recommend, I don’t know if I had a dud that just became a dud after a couple months and really not a whole lot of use. In total I emptied the bin about 5-6 times during that whole time while it did work, so not a lot of miles on it at all. Like I said, I'm not comfortable recommending it fully, maybe you get one that is ok, which I’m sure they are otherwise all the reviews would be similar to mine.

I was overwhelmed with all kinds of documents over the last 30 years. I am also a "green revolution" person. I wanted to SAVE the planet and started to scan my documents and save documents (on thumb drives) instead of printing them. So what do you do with the paper??? Shred it with a HP Microcut Paper Shredder. You can use the shredded paper in the garden as compost and container fillers. It takes up way less space in the trash and know one will ever know what your document said! Too heavy??? When you have to move the shredder from behind the desk make it easier when it's on wheels! My best buy from BEST BUY when it was on sale too!

It works great, and takes up only a small space. Best Buy seems to only carry high quality products.
